Product Description

Review

'Formidable in-depth information on native mammals and birds.' The Times 'Whatever corner of Uganda your next trip takes you to, this new guide will provide perfect company.' Travel Africa 'Bradt's Uganda guidebook has the most up-to-date information on trekking companies and basic travel resources, as well as some trekking route information.' Travel Africa 'If seeing gorillas in the mist appeals, this is the book for you. Primarily concerned with wildlife viewing opportunities, it gives formidable in-depth information on native mammals and birds.' The Times 'We had a successful filming trip, and the guide was great. I found it full of useful information, it was relevant, up to date and comprehensive. A good reference for anyone visiting Uganda with loads of interesting background information and tips.' Emma Richards, Smith & Watson Productions, UK 'Bradt's Uganda by Philip Briggs is a comprehensive guide to Uganda, complete with excellent background reading on both the mountain gorillas and the Batwa. Travel Africa "Having just got back from our first visit to Uganda for 15 years, I would like to thank you for your brilliant revision of the Bradt Guide. We have found the new edition a mine of information and interest all written with a delightful lightness of touch and real insight into each area." John Haden

I really enjoyed reading this book. It could have been more critical where criticism was needed e.g. that you need to haggle over price to get a boat out to the Source of the Nice and which tourist traps to avoid. The photographs, literature suggested and web links provided are excellent. There is good information about Murchison Falls, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Jinja (and the area) and Kampala.

Needed to cover some of the basics before flying to Uganda for several business trips in the next 3 months. The fact it is not the latest version, really doesn't matter, and its consequential lower cost, means excellent value for money.

I was dubious about purchasing a travel guide other than DK but my friend and husband both agree that the book is very informative and value for money
