The list is of course arbitrary, but some included didn't seem that bad compared with the others. Of course probably 50-60 I'd never heard of and they only warranted half a page. This seemed a desperate way to get the number up to a hundred.

Nothing can better Montefiores "Monsters". Better written and more detail.

Do consider Crawthorne and also "The Tyrants" by Clive Foss.

Both are excellent on VLAD THE IMPALER who seems to have a lots of research material to quote from. Very interesting and detailed.

I am surprised of how many tyrants from past to present have lived and how sick they were in torturing and also slaying people.

A very brief description of tyrants who lead their country at various times in history. Nothing special and something which you could read on Wikipedia.

An easy read - quick chapters however more information on certain tyrants would have been nice. Overall pleased with the read.

They were all so gruesome...a book to be read in small doses.
