As a gallery of some digital typefaces from the period this book is OK, but that's all it is. It lacks any other useful information about the art of creating digital type or even a glossary of the anatomy of type. From a Mac point of view, the free fonts on the accompanying CD wont work as the installer is incompatible with all but older Macs with OS 9 or those with Classic mode.

Nice sampling of various typefaces. Includes 15 typefaces, 1 from each chapter and style. A very basic look at Digital Typography. Broken into categories such as TEXT, GRAPGHIC, CALLIGRAPHIC, DIRTY, STENCIL, LINE, MODULAR, AND BITMAPPED. Quite an useful book if you can get at a bargain price here on Amazon such as I did !
