Product Description

About the Author

Leon Links, who lives in Amsterdam, is a fishing journalist and school teacher. He was first introduced to the flytying material CDC by fellow Dutch author and angler Kees Ketting, in the early 1980s. Since then he has fished with CDC flies on the difficult rivers of the Belgian Ardennes with remarkable success and has become an enthusiastic convert to the miraculous qualities of this special feather. An accomplished flytyer himself, Links is well known in European flytying circles, and his research for his book Tying Flies with CDC, took him to many parts of Europe, interviewing fellow experts, tying CDC flies and fishing with them. --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

Superb book with lots of information and pictures. This book is the leading light on tying with CDC and should be one everyone's tying bench. Not only helps you to tie the flies but gives the history and other information about Europe's best fly tiers

This book is the bible for anyone that fishes with c.d.c. flies. It gives a thorough history of the materials use together with exceptional photographs/illustrations & concise step by step tying procedures. The authors knowledge of the subject is comprehensive & encyclopaedic, but it doesn't overcook any aspect of the subject. A very hard act to follow, let alone improve upon.

Very good history on the origins of the material and the versatility afforded the fly tyer / fisher.Detailed tying instructions and helpful pictures at every stage. This book can be read on cold winters nights preparing for the next season, or simply to reference a particular pattern. I am not an expert (ask my wife) but would recommend this book to anyone wishing to learn more about this amazing material. I can't wait to try my flies at Graiglwyd Springs in North Wales.

I received this book(Flies with CDC, The fisherman's miracle feather) and found it to be an excellent insight into the use of the CDC feather.

The book was very informative on origins, development and their uses in fly tying, it is also very well illustrated on how to prepare and tie many types of flies.

I am working my way through this excellent book and look forward to tying many of the pattens shown and putting them to use on the water.

This book is highly recommended for those intricate pattens that will catch difficult and fussy fish.

A collection of something already known with poor dressing descriptions and not clear photos. From the name of the tyers mentioned in the book presentation i was waiting for something more.

A workmanlike book which does "what it says on the tin".Gives details of patterns and a great deal on historical perspective. Worth the money to anybody who ties fishing flies.
