HASH(0x94f6d1e0) out of 5 stars Short, goes nowhere 9 Jun. 2015

I did read The Lonely Hearts Club and enjoyed it, but promptly forgot it (more on that in a moment). I didn't get the point of this one. It's extremely short and goes nowhere. I guess it is to bridge us to We Can Work It Out, but I've read reviews of that and won't read it, plus it costs (for me) a fortune. Penny becomes increasingly off-putting (as I find 98% of all heroines to do in series rather than single books - familiarity seems to breed contempt for me with heroines). I just can't give this one a better rating. If its purpose is to make the next book irresistible, it fails. And in actual fact, I had to read it a 2nd time in order to review it, even after reading it and TLHC a bit over 2 months ago. I couldn't remember anything about either book. They are not memorable, as a good book should be. (And as a longtime feminist, now ex-, I find that whole aspect off-putting.) However, this book is free, so, there's that.
HASH(0x953d8df8) out of 5 stars Fun Story! 30 Jan. 2015

This book contains a major spoiler to The Lonely Heart's Club so if you haven't read that book yet I recommend reading it before starting in on these short stories. The first short story could be read before The Lonely Heart's Club, but this one should definitely be read after.

In this story Penny and Ryan go on their first official date and it's sweet and lovely. I loved that he took her to a bookstore!!

Since it has been a while since I had read The Lonely Heart's Club these stories are a nice refresher for the first book, and make me even more excited for the second book in the series to be released.

It's very short. I thought it would be a whole book! It's less than 50 pages.
HASH(0x954e5c84) out of 5 stars ADORABLE! 15 Jan. 2015

Now this is what I was expecting, kinda. I thought the continuation to The Lonely Hearts Club would take place years after but it isn't. It's like going back in time and finding out what happened after the book ended. Anyway, I really liked this short story. Penny and Ryan go on their second date and it was SO ADORABLE!

Such a fun little tidbit to remind us of lonely hearts club. I enjoyed it a lot and can not wait to read more
