I really must stop reading novels that are compared to One Day. The latter was a joyous read about two flawed but utterly engaging characters. Alas, in The Two of Us, the characters are just flawed. Fisher (ugh, why is he called by his surname?) is selfish and irritating, as well as being gutless. Why on earth did he take so long to confront the utterly uncommunicative and loathsome Ivy? I almost gave up on this book at an early stage but am glad I didn't, both characters improved, the story held my interest and was genuinely moving at one stage, and the book was well written. The achingly trendy London references jarred though. Average at best.

I downloaded this for free and didn't start reading it until over 6 months later. I took it on holiday and once I started reading it I didn't put it down until I finished it. I enjoyed it, very English, good plot.

I enjoyed reading this book, I felt it was slow going at first but once I got into the story I wanted to know how Ivy and Fisher`s relationship would develop. A very good story and hope to read more from this author.

The characters in this brilliantly written tale are solid. The dominant relationship is perfectly depicted and the protagonist alone is enough reason to buy AND read the book. Great read. Loved it.

Drew me in. Made me laugh. Made me cry. Loved Fisher's narration. The extraordinary in the ordinary, and I truly couldn't tell if they'd make it or not, right until the very end.

I like the twist between comedy and sad story combined. I found this book hard to put down, such a page turn over.
