The book itself is quite a nice, simple story, with plenty of opportunities for fun voices and discussion. The illustrations are wonderful, offering surprises when you turn the page to see what Miss MooHoo imagines could be hiding. Add to that the emotional rollercoaster (?) of sympathy for Little Bat Jack, fear from the 'rampaging ragamuffins' and joy for the end. I haven't tired with reading it yet and would most definitely recommend it to all children who enjoy a story that has a certain level of predictability but not too much :).
