Twisted together is a raw, unique and enticing story. The depth to which this author goes to describe and develop her characters, even the secondary characters is astounding. I have previously compared Peppers writing to a fine wine, you just want to saviour and taste every word she writes. Her writing inspires me and I am just left wanting more. Q Mercer has fast become a firm favourite in the many male dominant alpha characters I have read, he is like nothing you have or ever will read. The transformation of Tess Snow from book one to three is prolific; she becomes stronger, more determined.
I cannot praise this series highly enough. Definitely a top read for 2017 for me.
I want an author to stay true to the bare bones of their story and their characters, and thankfully, Pepper did.
As with the previous two books in this series, it's not an easy read; in parts it made me feel physically sick, and certain scenes turned my stomach. I was on the edge of my seat, hoping and praying for revenge... you'll have to read it to find out if it was granted.
I adore the strength Q and Tess draw from each other, I love the people they become in this instalment, and I'm left wanting to know more - so you know the job has been well done.
Pepper Winters has an exceptional talent at turning the most unusual stories into ones that stay with you forever, ones you crave to read more of.
She creates beautifully flawed characters that capture your heart and refuse to let go... and you don't want them to.
She pulls you into the darkness and you go willingly, you need to follow... you have no choice but to follow.
Q and Tess are firmly cemented in my heart, I'll think of them often and when I do, it will be with love, affection and I'll admit it, a little jealousy that they're fictional.
I'm delighted to say, Q earns his rightful place in my top three book boyfriends of all time, well done, Mr. Mercer, my list very rarely changes.
I'm not a lover of dark books on the whole but I'm so glad I read this series. I read it initially because the author is going to the Edinburgh signing but then after the first instalment I was hooked.
Twisted Together continues to track Tess and Q's emotional re-acquaintance with each other as Tess tries without much success to put her demons to rest.
Despite the powerful story-line I found the first 20% of this book quite slow and painstaking but the story soon picked up and grabbed my attention to the point where I couldn't put it down.
Yes there were parts of the story which for me didn't quite gel together (Q certainly has an unusual method to deal with trauma!) but overall it was magical.
***I wanted to ram the gates, cross her moat, and send an entire army of artillery to massacre her nightmares. I needed to know what swirled and swelled behind her eyes. I needed to know how to help her.***
This book, as with the others, has so many highs and lows for Q and Tess that you feel completely wrung out by the end but oh what a story it is. You cry for them, fight alongside them and feel their unconditional love which is far from pure but totally encapsulating.
Tess's strength and will to survive is like a beacon and one which cannot be extinguished by the darkness despite its best efforts.
***“My name is Tess Snow. Not Sweetie, or Tessie, or Honey. I’m a woman only now realizing what she’s capable of. I’m no one’s daughter. I’m no one’s girlfriend. I’m no one’s possession. I belong to me, and for the first time, I know how powerful that is.”***
Q is fierce in his determination to save Tess and to protect her from evil but to do this his must sacrifice himself to the darkness as he turns to Tess and Franco to save him.
The raw sexuality felt between Tess and Q continues in this book to a point where their passion and explosive connection is almost unbelievable but then you remember; this is Tess and Q.
I am not going to spoil this book in any way for anyone who hasn't read it yet but I will simply say that the ending is perfect and a faultless conclusion to Tess and Q’s story.
***“Sometimes, the only way to make your dreams come true is to shatter them,” he said, circling me like a predator. “Sometimes, the only way to make your nightmares disappear is by facing them.”***

This really did finish this series off perfectly. The love they both have, the trials they both survived. Absolutely, beautifully written. From the very first word in book one Tears of Tess, all the way through to the last. Absolutely blown away. Pepper Winters, I can't wait to read more of your work. Thank you for sharing this heart breaking story about survival and the perfect kind of love from the not so perfect circumstances.
