Staci Hart is a lovely writer. The characters are witty and the books capture your interest from the moment they begin. I whole heartedly recommend this writer.

Gifted for an honest review – 4 ½ stars
Sometimes you just want to fall into a book and get lost. Not have to think too much about it and just really enjoy what you are reading. I found Staci Hart’s With a Twist kind of like that. I laughed and sniffled through this friends to lover book and learnt a few new things on my way too. It truly was an absolute delight to read. I found the overall setting quite captivating also and characters that you’d be crazy not to fall in love with. It was written so well, great character development, nice little plot going on, a few side stories that you know are there because there’s more to come in the future. It was quite richly descriptive also, which I also love, I know a lot of people skip that kind of thing but for me it just enhances a book when it’s written like this. This ticked all those boxes for me.
So you’re eager to know what I learnt right? Off the top of my head “hot beef.” Yeah, never heard that expression before and it absolutely tickled me pink – “He just gave me the hot beef and sent me on my way.” I had a snort at the pet name “lilypad” too, omg every time I read that all I could think of was a feminine hygiene pad. Thankfully Lily is not down with that pet name.
I absolutely swooned over Weston; crikey it is so hard not to what with all the man bun and soft beard thing going on, then add those tattoos and that intellectual brain of his. Wow, pretty much my perfect guy! (ssshhh, don’t tell my hubby) Blane was a total douchebag, I mean utterly. I liked that Staci didn’t dive too much into Blane’s personality so you were left guessing what his angle was. Lily is just adorable but not in the cutesy kind of doormat way either. I really liked her, and I had all the time in the world for her relationship with Rose.

Meet Lily Thomas a ballet dance with New York City Ballet, it has been her dream since she was a kid, not wanting a relationship but when the man she has had a crush on in since forever Blane Baker becomes available she has thrown all her rules of not hooking up with another dancer out the window as he is the exception to this rule. That is until another player see's Lily and he doesn't think Blane deserves her {trust me he don't} and if he had her he would show her how much he loves her and he wouldn't keep them a secret.

Meet West Williams a TA at Columbia and waiting to hear back about his application into the doctoral program {which is a big thing} but he is best friends with Lily and has known her since she moved into the same building with Rose her roommate and now his sister Maggie, but after a night at the opera he realizes that he is in love with Lily but with her unknown relationship status with Blane he feels he should tell her but everyone tells him it is a bad idea, until one night after a few too many he blurts it out to her and now everything changes between them I mean you can't undo when someone tells you they love you.

Just what will become of Lily and West's relationship/friendship?

I laughed a good few times and I had a lump in my throat at one point and I was shouting at it like they could hear me {don't worry my family already know I am crazy when it comes to reading}. I was hooked from the start and I felt like I was losing a limb every time I put it down, but my kids did need fed {unfortunately}.

I have read all of Ms Hart's other books and I have to say I wasn't let down and I can't wait for more of her books.

This was a really slow burn from friends to lovers book.

Lily and West were so cute with a strong loving friendship that over the course of 4 years turn into that something more although it wasn't an amazing book it was still a really nice read and I'm definitely going to carry on with this series and look forward to it.

With A Twist by Staci Hart
4 stars!!!

“Sacrificing satin and leather, one concerto at a time.”

I was first introduced to Staci Hart through her Hardcore series which I absolutely loved. I have to admit that series caught my eye because of the amazing covers and once again, I love the cover that Staci has chosen to adorn With A Twist. Once I find an author that I love I don’t tend to read blurbs, I just dive in and that was the case with this, so I was pleasantly surprised that this was a contemporary romance. This book also ticked a lot of boxes for me, I am a sucker for friends to lovers and I love romantic comedy and this was the perfect blend for me, we had the anticipation, the friends, the eureka moment, humour, heat and just that feel good factor that leaves you with the warm and fuzzies at the end.

Lily was a ballet dancer for the New York ballet and was a beautiful character inside and out. She didn’t have time for relationships due to her working and training schedule and she always felt that she was missing out, however, her dancing was her world and their was no way that she would compromise for the sake of a man.

“Your feet are the only visible sign of your love for ballet. Every mark, every callus and wound is a symbol of your pain, of thousands of hours of sweat, blood and work. You call them ugly. I call them art.”

West was a teaching assistant for a professor of English Lit, he was hoping to be accepted in the Doctorate programme. Not only was West super smart, but again, we had another beautiful character, both inside and out. West had always filled his time with meaningless relationships and I use that term lightly, more like f buddies.
