I loved this book! One of the best books I've read so far this year. Loved the suspense and strange chemistry between captor and captive. There's a bit of everything in this book. Sex, suspense, anxiety, murder, just a stomach churning read! Buy this book it won't disappoint!

I hate reviews that tell you the whole story so there won't be any massive spoilers here.

In the beginning I wasn't sure; I get that the main character, Nora, is supposed to be confused, scared, completely lost and an emotional wreck, but to me it felt like the author didn't really know what to make of the story line either.

The suspense and angst is written very well and the characters are developed nicely. I love that Nora is perfectly aware of her crazy situation throughout and is constantly battling with what she feels and thinks.

As the story progresses Anna Zaires seems to hit her stride; specially during action scenes! I prefer a little more blood and gore but the scenes were filled with thrilling suspense and yes I did get that edge of the seat feeling as I was reading.

I am not a big fan of dom and sub stories (50shades being the only one) but have read brutal rape scenes before and this was very tame in comparison; which was perfect!!!! I think the sex scenes fit perfectly with the character backgrounds and the character arcs in this story. I also have to admit I found myself liking scenes that I know I should be revolted by which made me sympathise with Nora all the more!

By the end of the book I found myself wanting Julian and Nora to be together... actually rooting for it to happen. So yes my subject line sums it up nicely... This one grows on you 😊

This was a compelling, dark read.

Nora meets Julian briefly in a club one night. His touch ignites desire and, most of all, fear. She senses something dark and corrupt in him.

A date with her long-time crush, Jake, ends in Jake being knocked out and Nora being kidnapped. When she regains consciousness, she finds herself trapped on a privately-owned, tropical island, with only Beth, the ‘housekeeper’, and Julian for company.

Beth and Julian are infinitely mysterious with tragic and violent pasts.

As one day merges into the next, Julian gradually breaks Nora down, tapping into her naturally submissive side. Nora is torn between feeling desire for her dark angel, and horror at the fact that she craves him and the punishment he likes to mete out to her.

This was such a compelling read, charting Nora’s psychological change from being an unwilling captive to being completely in love with her kidnapper. We see glimpses of what has shaped Julian’s nature. I’m really not into the whole BDSM thing, but this story needed it to show Julian’s complete and utter dominance over Nora, through her punishment and then his care and tenderness for her. We are also witness to his obsession for her and his desire to please her.

I look forward to reading the follow-up books very soon.

Ok I got this book out of curiosity and I had heard some reviews from a friend. So I got it and boy I didn't know what to think to the storyline. At first I thought it was very twisted yet I couldn't bare to put it down. It was becoming so addictive that I just had to read that last chapter and then the next till I realized the time and went to bed.
I loved it, I felt all the emotions during this book so I warn you have some tissues and be prepared to shout a lot. Lol
I'm just solo pleased with the quality writing, the characters and the settings.
Also very happy to know from Tomoz I can read the next book....far to late to start reading "just one chapter now". I'm gonna guessing the next book is just as good, so look out for my next review. Bring on my nora and Julian fix! Sweet dreams x

I normally like this type of book but for it just seemed all to convenient. Meets him, he captures her, basically rapes and steals her virginity and she doesn't even put up a fight because she feels some kind of attraction to him... Come on!!!!!? As if!! Fair enough he has her for a few months and then she stops fighting but to need even fight him at the start? Wasn't buying it.. Didn't think it was a bad read by any means. Liked the authors style of writing and would even mention it if someone asked about books in this category, it just wasn't for me..........

I wasn't quite prepared for how disturbing this book has turned out to be. A great idea for a story even an infuriating one like this. Many twists that do keep you guessing and probably shouting at your kindle/book with frustration!!! Julian was a very needy alpha male who literally forced his ideals/needs onto the poor inexperienced Nora, who out of self preservation embraced him over time. I can't imagine being as calm and accepting as her....ever!!! However what an end, just how you would expect a man in Julian's position to behave.
