A sweet holiday romance? No, not until the last chapter. A very sensual holiday romance with shocking secrets. In fact there were two of them in The Twelve Nights of Christmas by the extremely talented author Sarah Morgan. A heroine who was homeless and weeks earlier had dumped her soon to be groom. And a dark and sexy alpha by the name of Rico who hated Christmas! It was a very explosive combination.

Evie Anderson adored her grandfather and wanted to make him proud. When her parents died, her grandparents took her in and raised her and her grandfather was so proud of her job in London. After being dumped by her fiance just days before she was to be married, she also found out her landlord had changed the locks. Top it off with the billionaire Rico Laccarelli who owned the hotel where she worked was due to arrive at his penthouse suite in24 hours. The hotel itself was one of the most expensive properties in the world. So she put her belongings in a plastic sack and off she trudged through the snow to the hotel, her clothes soaking wet. Evie had been hired to work in reception but was demoted due to her boss who had tried to kiss her an was now working in housekeeping. With it only being twelve days until Christmas, she was to decorate the huge tree in the penthouse plus clean it. So she stowed her personal belongings in the basement and went to get her instructions. Her nasty boss Carlos noted her state and told her to ready everything, take a hot shower and gave her permission to stay overnight and finish the details in the morning.

Rico Laccarelli before leaving for London met with his lawyer. They had a super-sensitive deal of the table which meant Rico had to be pure as the snow falling in London. His lawyer advised him "no women" and to keep a low profile for a few weeks.

If we could nominate an author for the "the queen of words", Sarah Morgan would surely win hands down. I would love to examine her brain to understand how she consistently delivers great stories. It's intriguing.

Sarah Morgan delivers a heart warming, and enthralling tale of romance, naivety, innocence, honesty and passion in The Twelve days of Christmas. It is twelve days until Christmas, Evie Anderson`s favourite time of year and she was down on her luck. It was as if everything that could go wrong was going wrong, jilted by her fiancé 6 weeks earlier in a text message, demoted within a week of her new job in a London hotel, made homeless by her landlord 12 days before Christmas, could her luck get any worse, yes and no, that depends on how you look at it, do you see the glass as half empty or half full? When her lecherous boss offered her a bed for the night in the penthouse suite of the hotel that she was cleaning and readying for the arrival of their boss the next day, Evie did not look the gift horse in the mouth, if she had she would have remembered to be wary of Greek's bearing gifts. To her dismay her boss arrives that very night, a day earlier than scheduled and finds her naked and asleep in his bed.

Rio Zafferreli dislikes Christmas and was negotiating the deal of his life. His lawyers wanted him to `be whiter than snow' i.e- no scandal, no women and definitely no sex scandal. He needed a wholesome image for the deal to go through. All thoughts of his promise to his lawyer was driven out of his head when he saw a beautiful naked woman in his bed, without a second thought he kissed her and `flash flash ` went a paparazzi camera, can you smell a set up? So Rio and Evie were set up but Rio did not believe initially that Evie did not have anything to do with it. However after he believed her, he was far gone in his plans to use the situation to his advantage.

although not one of Sarah Morgan's best stories, it had enduring people and a good story and good surprises. For me the only fault is that although this is all fantasy, some bits were a little unbelievable and where I can normally submerge myself into it, it didn't completely happen here.

Sarah Morgan has done it again - another delightful love story! I liked both the main characters. Rio the sexy, vulnerable, alpha male. Evie the tender, kind hearted, sexy heroine. It was a sweet love story just what I needed to curl up with on a cold, damp, Autumn night!
