About the Author
Voted ETO Best Erotic Author of 2014, and a proud member of The Brit Babes, K D Grace believes Freud was right. In the end, it really IS all about sex, well sex and love. And nobody’s happier about that than she is, otherwise, what would she write about?
When she’s not writing, K D is veg gardening. When she’s not gardening, she’s walking. She walks her stories, and she’s serious about it. She and her husband have walked Coast to Coast across England, along with several other long-distance routes. For her, inspiration is directly proportionate to how quickly she wears out a pair of walking boots. She also enjoys time at the gym, reading, watching the birds and anything that gets her outdoors. What she likes best, though, is writing a good tale.

You know with KD Grace to expect the unexpected and The Tutor definitely carries on in the same vein. From a gorgeous cover, which immediately attracted my attention, came a story like no other. Seeing that one of the characters in this book suffers from haphephobia, following a childhood trauma, I couldn't wait to experience just how the two main protagonists would work around this condition.
Kelly Blake is a writer and moonlights as a sex tutor. Having helped many people understand the complexities of sex and all that it entails, she finds herself drawn in to help sculptor, Alexander "Lex" Valentine, who finds himself unable to touch or be touched by anyone without being sick or passing out. At his PA's insistence, Lex agrees to meet with Kelly and although drawn to her, he struggles to see how she can help his condition, without making matters worse. Despite a hesitant start, Lex soon finds that there are other ways to be with Kelly without actually being with Kelly.
Their working relationship and tentative friendship initially struggles but a public grand gesture by Lex makes Kelly's future take a dramatic turn as she finds herself living with Lex in order to escape the paparazzi. With an unbreakable bond, the duo start to find ways of helping each other and to alleviate their mutual sexual tension. Lex starts to trust Kelly and in doing so finds himself able to get closer to her until he forces himself to make contact with her, albeit briefly, and before he's violently sick.
I really enjoyed the voyage of self-exploration that Lex and Kelly find themselves on. They have both suffered in their pasts but Lex more so as he tries to find the answers that his nightmares are trying to direct him towards.
As expected with KD Grace's books, the sexual encounters are not of the norm but no less expressive or fulfilling for readers. Despite not touching each other, the emotions and sexual encounters experienced were extremely erotic and beautiful and readers will definitely feel the power of sight over touch.
This is definitely a recommended read if you're looking for something a little different.
Having experienced a traumatic event earlier in life Alexander Valentine is haphephobic - he cannot bear to touch or be touched by another. His PA urges him to seek out the help of Kelly Blake - a sex tutor.
This is such a sensual book - a very emotional love story, between Lex and Kelly. Even the supporting characters are a joy to behold!
KD's writing always drags you in and she knows just how to get you going. Her scenes of intimacy with actually touching the other person are a joy to read, however I really don't think I will be able to eat another can of tinned pears again without blushing at the memories!
Well written with strong characters it deals very sensitively with the phobia of being touched but still manages to be sexy and funny in the process. Some of the scenarios had me laughing out loud, others were downright raunchy. 10 out of 10 to the author for creative imagination.
I read Ms Grace's short story ' The Trespasser' and hoped she'd produce a full-time length novel expanding the theme. Lex and Kelly are wonderful creations, and I really wanted them to find their own HEA.
I can't recommend this novel too highly. If you enjoy a romantic, sexy story with a unique theme, then this is definitely for you.
Congratulations Mss Grace - you are a wonderfully talented writer. Can't wait to read your next novel.
