This second instalment of The Dragon Oracles expands the scope of the saga, as our heroes split into three groups and travel to new places and meet new friends. The highlight for me was Daric's story arc, as he finds himself unwillingly being pulled back into his old military lifestyle. And fans of The Lord of the Rings will enjoy the very Moria-esque eponymous tunnels.

Yes, a lovely read and we'll worth the price I paid. Not too intense but action all through the book and not ever boring. Worth buying all four books to follow this journey.

3.0 out of 5 stars Lost some of the excitement of volume 1 13 July 2016

I would have given the first book at least 4 stars. Some problems with editing and incorrect words apparently selected by spell checker. But overall the first book was good. The second book, The Tunnels of Aldgregair, well, still okay but somewhat of a letdown; not a whole lot happened, and the story just ended, more so than the first volume. I dislike books that cannot tell a story and must rely on multiple volumes to finish the story. I thought this was a 3 volume book, but now it looks like it is actually five. Story is going to have to get a lot better to hold my interest through 3 more books. Better proofreading and editing would help.

If your are in to fantasy with dragons and power struggle then this is the book for you! This book has a refreshing outlook on dragons role and I found the story does not drag like others with extreme detail so easy to read. I had a hard time putting it down.
