Great for retrobriting old computers

Perfect for retrobriting (or retr0brite, however you want to spell it). I retrobrited Apple IIgs and Apple IIc computers I bought on eBay and they came out perfect. No streaking (marbling) whatsoever. I used a UV light bulb instead of sunlight.

For those who came to see a review for hair bleach, you may be wondering what 'retrobrite' is. Retrobrite is a process invented by classic computer enthusiasts to restore the yellowed plastic case in old computers (20-40 year old equipment) to its original colour. To do so requires hydrogen peroxide and UV light.

Apologies for those who are looking at this product for 'hair bleaching'. I did not purchase this for that. I purchased this for 'retrobrighting', the technique which essentially ermoves the yellowing of old plastics (normally ABS) on the surface. I chose this because I others doing the same thing with this product.

I can, with confidence, say that this works. The arguablely more effective method is to coat the plastics with the cream and put clingfilm over it and leave it out in the sun, but I found that I found that the stains didn't come out evenly, so ended up resorting to having a solution of cream and water in a container left out in the sun (with clingfilm over). The heat heat will help the process, and you should always check compare the colour with the underside of the plastic.

I havent tried this on hair, but due to the strength, I'd expect that it'd work well for most shares of hair. Heat will definetly speed up the process but I can't recommend it.

I've red some reviews saying that they were disappointed with the packaging, saying that it leaked. I am satisfied with my packaging. The bottle (being 1000ml, it will be quite heavy) was wrapped with bubble wrap and placed in a box. There was tape stuck onthe lid to ensure that it wouldn't open, and it didn't. Although there may still be a risk taht the lid may crack with heavy handling, I'd say that the chance of that happening is very small.

Shipping was very prompt, despite not beig prime at the time of purchase, however, at the time of writing this review, it is now available with prime service, so I'd expect delivery to be even faster.

Will never use 20 or 30 vol again. 40 vol did in 2 sessions what 20 and 30 vol can't do in 5-6 sessions and with less damage too. I didn't have any breakage either. But that's just my hair, can't say it'll work the same on everyone

This product was as described however it arrived poorly packaged and had leaked slightly, which is not great considering it irritates the skin and would bleach any nearby fabric. Maybe don’t open the package over a carpet. Also worth mentioning that that is volume 40 so very strong, I wouldn’t recommend putting it on your scalp unless you’re prepared for it to burn

It worked really well, so if you're looking to do the same, follow any of the paint-on-leave-in-the-sun guides on YouTube and you should get good results.
