Ben Irvine was born in Australia but he grew up in North East London. He attended the University of Durham and Cambridge University, where he completed a PhD in Philosophy.

Nowadays Ben works as a delivery driver to fund his writing. Describing himself as a ‘recovered philosopher’, he wants to make philosophy less about obsessing over imaginary problems and more about reflecting on how to live a good life in the real world.

Ben was founding editor of two publications: the Journal of Modern Wisdom and Cycle Lifestyle. As an offshoot of this last project, Ben is running the London Cycle Map Campaign, which is lobbying for a single, Tube-style map and network of cycle routes in the British capital.

Ben is an Honorary Fellow in the Philosophy Department at the University of Durham, and he is a regular guest blogger for The Creativity Post.

Don’t want to give it all away, but it’s a must have book that is revealing much more than I ever expected. I have had to purchase an extra copy to lend to friends and family. Superbly written and very informative, 6 stars.

If you're reading this, you probably know Ben Irvine from Twitter.

I have read a number of his previous books, and admire his writing style. He takes relatively complicated subjects, and covers them in a concise, but analytical, manner. Reading one of his books is like having a really interesting conversation with an engaging, entertaining person about a complex topic, where you learn a huge amount - which is a pretty rare thing, so all the more memorable when it happens.

Personally, I would say this book is required reading for anyone interested in understanding why we ended up in such a mess in March 2020. It gives a well-researched perspective on events in China - and you will probably be surprised about what was actually going on at the time, and how that may potentially have influenced lockdown policy in the western world. I had no idea before reading this book.

Thoroughly recommended.

This short, well-researched book is an important starting point to understanding the backdrop to the UK lockdown in March 2020. Well-written and easy to follow (as I have found with Ben's 'Mindfulness and the Big Questions') this book provides a compelling argument of the CCP lockdown policy in the notable absence of any substantial investigative work by the mainstream media. Highly recommended.

The notorious events of early 2020 have passed into infamy. The trouble is that facts are thin on the ground, and the mainstream narrative falls short: the lockdowns of March 2020 onwards were neither appropriate nor necessary. Unfortunately, too many people have a vested interest in shrugging their collective shoulders: "couldn't be helped, these things happen, let's move on".

If we are to avoid falling into this tank trap again (something we owe our children and children's children), we must fully understand how these terrible events came to pass and ensure that our society is immunised against such social contagion.

Irvine has meticulously pieced together the events of January to March 2020 and presents compelling evidence outlining the true chain of events that led to the shuttering of economies in the West from March 2020 onwards. Irvine calls out the moral failings of those that tolerated the destruction of people's lives and livelihoods, as well as the crimes of those in authority that did not use the information that was available to them to talk their countries away from the brink.

Highly recommended.

Excellent extended essay, full of insight, viable hypothesis and research on how the world embraced absurdity in 2020 and how we have struggled to shake it off since.

Volumes of studies over millions of pages will be written, and have been written, on the multi facetted reasons on how the unthinkable, untried, untested and deeply damaging lockdowns were imposed upon society. Ben focusses on the Wuhan lockdown, the chain of events leading up to it and the influences that made it possible. He takes a fresh approach, dismissing the top down plandemic style theories and focusing on more societal pressures which made Governments around the World lose their sanity over what is essentially a mild virus to the vast majority of people.

He also draws parallels as well as differences of opinions with Michael Segners excellent book, "Snake Oil" which focusses on the CCPs influence on lockdown policy.

So the question is; Do I believe Ben's hypothesis on the chain of events leading up to the "Coronapanic debacle"?
Like Ben, despite not necessarily sharing his wider politics, I saw through the insanity right from the start and could foresee the horrendous consequences that taking away peoples freedoms would lead to. I totally agree that there was never any justification in taking such obscene measures, even if shown to be somehow effective, although they weren't. I also agree with him on the mass hysteria, public pressure, Countries copying off each other, coordination with major economies, media fearmongering, propaganda, undoubted militant union pressure and sinister covert influence coming from the CCP. Also the general dishonesty and lack of humility. I have also never been convinced about the WEF planning the whole thing from the start, although they do clearly have some unwarranted influence over certain Governments such as Canada. Ben is also bang on about the huge amount of arse covering, and like his references and explanation of the Janus strategies used by leaders worldwide.

Nevertheless, I do believe that one of the major influences on the whole debacle has been pharmaceutical fraud, top down and organised, waiting for an opportunity. This has been implemented on an unfathomable scale. This is only lightly touched upon but is not the focus of the book.

This is an important book, definitely worth reading alongside Michael Segners book to see the parallels. Ben offers a fresh perspective which may be more palatable to those who know intrinsically that what has been imposed has been pointless but don't want to be aligned with the wilder conspiracy theories.

Buy the book, it will be an important reference for the future.

This booked is well written, easy to digest and provides a compelling narrative.

Taking the reader from the Wuhan Respiratory Riots of 2019 through the capitulation of weak government in the face of union unrest to the eventual unwinding of restrictions. How governments across the globe followed one another off a cliff as none had the strength to follow existing guidelines. How they were all afraid of the OPTICS. How they all denied the FACTS.

How could government "face off" the unions over a pandemic? This was an opportunity for socialist unions to leverage a health situation for their direct benefit.

Read this book and gain a true insight into the dance between the unions, the government and the leaders of many countries.
