Well done, KD Robichaux!
It is pretty obvious that the author has done plenty of research for this book. There are no gaps in the flow, the level of information is perfect! We are very gently guided through a very difficult period of Vi’s life.
I really liked the way we were lead through what had happened over the last 10 years. Not just the incident that changed both their lives forever, but what went before and came after.
It was very cathartic reading for me. I know there are warnings in the beginning of the book, this book covers some deep subjects and obviously there are things tested that should be done under controlled circumstances. That being said, I can completely see the links that are made and why and how it would work. Sex as a therapeutic healing session sounds fantastic!
There are some amazingly hot scenes and as ever the connection between the two of then is fantastic! I love the writing style and the authors ability to draw you in and keep you there.
I have completely run out of words to express how absolutely awesome this book is. The combination of dark and light, the way they compliment each other without knowing. The unknown draw between them. It’s done so beautifully and a very difficult situation is dealt with carefully and tactfully.
I love it! It’s not the dark and twisty stuff I’ve been reading recently, a refreshing change without being sickly sweet. Perfection!
To get to their happy ever after, these characters have been to hell and back.
This story is not for the faint hearted. If you're strong enough, your heart will soar, your soul will be rejoicing, and your loins tingling!!
SUPER HOT, SUPER ANGSTY, SUPER GREEN!!
I fell in love with Corbin and Vi in Before the Lie - which MUST be read before Truth Revealed (heck, you shouldn't even read the synopsis to TR before reading BtL!) - and despite the way the first book ended, I could not wait to delve back into their world.
Except the world we left is much different to the world we entered. Lives have changed, irrevocably changed from what we knew.
There are some difficult themes throughout this novel but without them, we wouldn't understand the full potential of Vi and her Corbin's relationship and bond. It was forged over rocks but once it hit the rocks, did they sail off into the sunset and happiness or let the cliff edge tempt them into permanent despair?
You'll need to read it to find out!!

We find that Vi has made quite the name for herself and we're not quite sure what Corbin does, but I can tell just from his actions at the beginning of the book, that Vi is still at the forefront of his thoughts. And I loved how he was always thinking about her and still wanting to take care of her even though she broke his heart in two pieces several years ago.
Vi is in the middle of researching her latest book and has made friends with an "expert" in a particular proclivity and low and behold who "takes over" her research, but the one and only Corbin! There's so much emotion in how's and why's of Corbin keeping his eye on Vi and of course his natural alpha male personality is driving that, but I think this goes along with how he's never stopped loving Vi.
As the book moves through the next several weeks, many secrets are revealed that literally broke my heart. The pain and shame that Vi has been living with all these years is astounding, but we also get to see how Corbin reacts to what really happened and let me tell you...it's all growly alpha and I loved it!
There's so much that goes on from this point in the story that kept me glued to my kindle. The story moves at the exact pace that is needed for this particular story and the connection between our H/h is as strong as ever leading me to hope for their HEA. But they have some hurdles to get over...but the author does a great job of weaving their story and make it something we can all connect to.
I so enjoyed this Duet and can't wait to see what other storylines can come from Ms. Robichaux.
And now I have very mixed feelings ...
The book is really really good, the story heartbreaking and really hard to digest.
Despite all this, this book has touched me less emotionally than BTL.
Somehow this warm feeling was missing in me, which I had before with Vi and Corbin, when they met and fell in love, this cozy feeling ...
In some places, it seemed to me as if everything was going too fast and too smooth.
Should not there be any more shock and hurt feelings from Vi, that Corbin stalked her so long ...?
Would not it take much longer to get to know each other after 10 years ...? People are changing in such a long time, and it takes a while to become as familiar with each other as they once were.
Somehow, this book feels incomplete ...
Still, I would recommend this book to anyone!
Kayla does a fantastic job on her research with the issues that are brought out. I was able to read it in one day ,and didn't want to put it down. I hope she writes about the other characters. They really need their story to be told. #corbinismine #ifancythedoc
Their story continues 10 years later where so much has changed and well so much hasn't. Both of them have suffered so much but always had their mind on each other. While she was looking for him, he was looking out for her. Vi making a friend while doing research and never once thought that she would or could be involved in such a lifestyle. She would never has guessed that not only could she heal herself but also find her soulmate once again. She has to learn to trust and work around her triggers of hurt and guilt.
This is not your normal romance story as there are dark things that happen and triggers often. It shows how not only can the truth set you free but it can also hurt you too.
