TRUTH: A group of university friends celebrate the end of term with the party to end all parties. Drink, drugs and sex flow in equal measure as everyone lets loose. As the party winds down, the focus shifts to a seemingly innocuous game of Truth or Dare. The party's socially awkward geek - Felix - has a crush on one of the most popular girls there, and this truth is brutally exposed to everyone, and he leaves the party humiliated.
DARE: A year later the five friends are reunited when they are invited to Felix's birthday party at a grand stately home. They soon realise that they are the only people attending, and that this is going to be a very different party from their last one. In a bid for vengeance all are forced to play a sickening and gruesome game of Truth or Dare, where a Dare may well equal death. Sex, lies and murder are all unravelled as the game hurls the group toward the final, fatal twist.
Truth or Dare is a smart, sexy and terrifying thriller with an up and coming cast (Jennie Jacques Shank; Jack Gordon Heartless; David Oakes - The Borgias) for a new generation. Only the truth can set you free... or will it?

Later, the gang which includes the over sexed Eleanor (Jennie Jacques) and her boyfriend Paul (Liam Boyle), one of those rare guys who can fall asleep right after doing a line of coke, head out to the country to celebrate Felix's birthday. They are greeted by Justin (David Oakes), Felix's brother and ex-soldier, who has his own ideas on how to play "Truth or Dare."
I enjoyed what the Brits did to this common theme, geek kid humiliated/revenge slasher film. Good sound track. Good action. Jennie Jacques reminded me of Fairuza Balk during her slutty roles. Good abduction/torture style movie.
Parental guide: F-bomb, sex, girls kissing, drugs/alcohol use
No suspense , predictable, as it began to reach it's climax I made a guess as to how each stage was going to finish up..and got % 100 right.
The most unsatisfactory part of the climax..is that one of the female characters,a horrible obnoxious Tracy Barlow style character, who was mostly to blame for the situation which gets a lot of her friends. .Some innocent, killed, manages to turn the tables , and get away scot free, one of my correct guesses that I hoped to be wrong about.
Yep! We are in familiar territory here, a bunch of annoying teenagers go out in the woods today and head for a big surprise. In fact the story twists quite early on and has great potential, landing the narrative in a sort of torture porn revenger universe, but the makers then rely far too heavily on this aspect and the dialogue is only matched in banality quotient by the plot holes.
Even the brutality factor quickly gets boring, it's like covering for inadequacies elsewhere by thrusting the violence to the front to try and save the movie. However, it's not a total washout. There's a trio of jumping-bean performances that remain entertaining throughout their respective stays, and a flip-flop device has some worth even if we have absolutely no affinity for any of these people at all.
A tough film to recommend to anyone but the staunchest torture porn/revenger fan, because ultimately it's failings elsewhere are hurtful to the audience's viewing experience. 4/10
However, I persevered and I was glad I did. For a start, they were supposed to be horrid and, without going into too much detail, they got what was coming to them.
For what is technically a horror/torture b-movie, there are some surprising developments which I won't go into for fear of spoiling it for you. However, you may need a strong stomach as when revenge comes these toffs' way, it's not nice to watch.
This is one film where the less you know about it, the more chance you'll have of enjoying it. If you like Hostel/revenge type films, definitely give this one a go. You may be surprised. And stick with it until the end - I was glad I did.
