I really enjoyed Teach Me so Trust Me was an anticipated read and it did not disappoint. Not one bit. In fact, the series is going from great to brilliant.

LOVED Jack and Maddie, loved the intrigue surrounding Maggie, how tough she was, how focused on good winning over bad, putting herself out there for those girls. Jack - wait while I swoon .... such a protective alpha male with patience, understanding, encouragement and not one single beat of his chest.

I loved the strong suspense line running through, and also the catch up with Con and Jess.

Gabe has got me, man I can't WAIT for his book.

A fabulous 5 star read

Trust Me by Ella Sheridan is the second book in her Southern Nights series. You do not have to read the first one, as they do stand alone very well. But as there are characters from the first book, it may be handy.

Poor Maddy, after escaping from an abusive relationship, she spends the next four years on the run. But don’t be fooled into thinking she is weak, she is a fighter, literally. She knows how to take care of herself, and in doing so, only relies on herself, trusting anyone is not an option. She keeps her guard up to protect her secrets, and her life.

We met Jack in the first book, so in this book we go into more details about him.

As soon as Jack sets eyes on Maddie, he knows something is different about her. Once he finds out all her secrets and who she’s running from, he must get Maddie to trust him, to make her believe that he’ll protect her, with is life if need be. Both for Maddie’s sake and for his own. Can he win that trust?

Once I got into this book, I could not put it down. Once the story gets going, Trust Me is full of suspense, and had me eagerly turning the next page. It even managed to shock me once or twice when the villains were revealed. Just like with the first book, It keeps you immersed in their world.

I recommend you to read this book, as you won’t be disappointed.

HASH(0x8ac2e318) out of 5 stars Review: Trust Me by Ella Sheridan 24 Mar. 2015
By Tori @SmexyBooks - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Trust Me by Ella Sheridan is the second installment in her Southern Nights series but can be read as a stand alone. Boldly flavored writing, dynamic characters, and an insidious suspenseful plot will keep readers on the edge of their seats as Sheridan leads you down a dark path of abuse and human trafficking towards one woman’s all encompassing need for justice. The story starts slow and steady, giving us character backgrounds and setting up the plotlines. The running dialog between the characters is fast and smooth-allowing you to slip right into the story with them. As the plot reveals itself and picks up speed, the ripe tension stays till the very last page.

The hero and heroine are a delightful mixture of contrasts and similarities. Their romance holds a very strong place in the story with the main plot weaving in and out, enhancing the story. They are fabulous together-both stubborn and protective of those they love. They butt heads repeatedly. The sexual tension is an explosive entity to be reckoned with as they spend time together getting to know one another (in and out of bed). Jack has a very, very dirty mouth. My kind of hero. *wink*

Maddie is a survivor. Intelligent, tenacious, and strong willed, she survived and escaped from what would have destroyed most people. She says what she means and challenges Jack in ways no one else dares to. Though she has some serious baggage from her past, Jack understands more than she thinks and takes his time with her, gaining her trust and proving and that he can and will protect her with his life.

The secondary characters are as rich and inviting as our protagonists. Each one adding personality, drama, and insight to the story. The dynamics between the characters are crisp and defined. The cast is a solid foundation in which our two protagonists work and build from. The villain(s) of the story are evil personified; wrapped in normality. Though we are alerted early on to who the villains are, the nature of their crimes and the extent at which they are committed is unbelievably cruel and vicious. It’s disheartening to know this happens in real life every single day.

The ending comes at the reader fast and furious. Loose ends are wrapped up, questions answered, and the wrongs of the past are made right and finally laid to rest. Sheridan pens a thrilling suspense with a strong romantic lead. I look forward to book three.

Trust Me by Ella Sheridan is a treasure of a story. I was captivated from the get-go. The story begins with Jack having a drink at his favorite hang-out. The bar is homey and comfortable and he has developed a relationship with the bar owner and the employees that work there. The bar has a new bar tender, Maddie. Jack is intrigued by the little spitfire from the moment his eyes meet her body…. Ooops, I mean from the moment his eyes meet hers. As events unfold and the story progresses, we find that Maddie is dealing with some serious issues. She’s strong, tough and courageous… and Jack is drawn to her like a moth to a flame. He’s a protector by nature, and as co-owner of a private investigation service, he’s got a sharp eye and a quick mind. He’s putting two and two together and he’s figured out that Maddie needs help. But he’s going to have to convince her, because she’s not looking for help. And convince her he does. This is where my emotions go on a roller-coaster ride. Maddie has a fragile side, but she does not let it show; she’s put her game face on and she’s moving forward with her life and her commitment to make right that which is wrong. She is my favorite type of heroine in any story, strong willed, determined and first to step up to help someone who is in need. She keeps her vulnerabilities tucked deep inside, deals with insecurities and stress away from prying eyes. She needs a special type of man; one who will appreciate her strengths and who will help her the best by helping her stand on her own two feet. One who can offer a shoulder of support but make her think she is really helping herself. One who isn’t afraid to just grab her and hold onto her until she calms down in the heat of the moment. A man who gives as good as she gives. That’s the kind of man Jack is… he’s truly one of a kind… I fell a lot in love with Jack – he is the perfect protector and emotional tower that Maddie needs in her life. They need each other, they blend perfectly, Maddie is spirited and quick to rebuff Jack’s (at first unwanted) attention. He proves himself to Maddie, she begins to trust him and his word and things just sort of fall into place after that. This story is an amazing journey… I give it a 100+ stars. Every once in awhile you find a story that becomes your favorite go to book to read again and again. For me it will be this book. It grabbed my heart and punched me in the gut, I sat up and took notice; it was like I was falling in love, not watching Maddie do it. I am anxious to start reading it the first book of this series; the characters all know each other and I love these kinds of series that connect to each other.

Received an arc from Ella Sheridan in exchange for an honest review; full post with quotes can be found at original post:

At first, superficial, glance, TRUST ME is TEACH ME with different characters.

Guy who protects people for a living, teaching victimized women to defend themselves. Same guy falls for one said victimized woman. Victimized woman's past comes to haunt them. Eventually, all's well and they live happily ever after.

But like I said -- that's on first superficial glance.

Con liked Jess from the beginning -- he found her attractive and went as far as 'stalking' her to the local coffee shop he only ever saw her at. Jess was confronted by her nightmare the day she first meets Con; Con offers his services, putting his libido aside. Eventually, Jess learns to trust him (and her, at that) -- and so and so forth.

Now, when Con's good friend first sees Maddie? Sure, he thinks she's hot, but damn she has a mouth on her. And where Jess found Con attractive but was in no way in the market for a relationship, one date or more? Yeah... Maddie is so far off the market that she does her damnedest to deter Jack from the get-go.

...after all, what better nickname for a man named Jack than 'jackass'? And she certainly slings it like it's part of her everyday language.

But then again... there's not exactly the urge to call someone by nice nicknames when he's issuing commands at you as if you're a dog...

Maddie is super cautious, even if and when she's flipping birds and running her mouth. The attitude stems from her deep need to change; the cautiousness is due to the fact she's living life on the run.

Jack, on the other hand, is crude and, like Maddie says, a jackass, quite frankly. However, like a quick flip of the switch, a few kisses and that changes (because it's most certainly not the first one that changes their attitudes toward one another).

Maddie is a very strong lead female. She doesn't take s*** and wants her hands in the dirt that Jack starts to dig. Does she shrink back at times? Try to keep her demons hidden from the man she's coming to, dare she say it... like? Absolutely.

But when it matters, she lets him in -- exactly where Jack doesn't realize he needs to be.

I remember loving TEACH ME. When I started TRUST ME, I was a bit disappointed to find the theme was the same... but then I looked past that superficial surface and really, truly enjoyed watching these two go through the motions -- especially because, as Ella states, Jack did not make this story easy (I'm curious about what and where he gave her the most hell...).

The next story to be released will be TAKE ME, where we follow Jack's friend, old Marine buddy, guy we meet in this book... Gabe. However, it's more than Gabe and some girl... According to the quick blurb, it's Gabe, Sam (his twin), and Peyton (the girl, I'm assuming). I've read one ménage story that involved brothers and a girl (can't remember the name). And while threesomes and whatnot... ok, it's a fantasy that many take a part of... the whole "doing it with your sibling" just freaks me out a little bit.

...but because this series hasn't steered me wrong thus far, I will read it with an open mind. I'm just a little bit more cautious with that one.
HASH(0x8ac2ec54) out of 5 stars Riveting, suspenseful romance 2 Feb. 2015
By Robin (Sizzling Hot Books) - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Trust Me by Ella Sheridan should come with a warning of lost sleep and deep circles under your eyes. Because that’s what’s going to happen to you once you start reading this riveting, suspenseful tale of love and revenge. You won’t be able to sleep until you have reached the very last page. I stayed up all night to finish this book because I had to know how everything ended. I was so vested in the story that there was no way I could walk away from the book until I knew that Maddie was safe and had gotten her much deserved happy ending.

After watching his partner find love and happiness, Jack knew that something was missing in his life. When he runs into Maddie, the newest bartender at his favorite bar, he realizes that she might just be the missing piece. But it’s obvious that Maddie is keeping secrets, some pretty big secrets. Maddie has a plan and it doesn’t include Jack, but he’s awfully hard to resist especially when he is focusing his entire being on Maddie. Maddie’s past needs to be dealt with before she can plan a future and Jack is determined to help her. Trust is not easy for Maddie but that’s exactly what she’s going to need to do when her past comes back to haunt her.

It was the two characters that elevated Trust Me beyond your typical romance suspense. Maddie was a kick-ass heroine who didn’t run away from danger. Her past is horrific but she doesn’t let it define her and she uses her pain as motivation to help others. Maddie still has her vulnerable moments that make me want to reach through pages and just hug her. Jack is, well let’s just say that I think he’s pretty perfect. Forget the fact that he’s handsome and rich. Just focus on how his heart and soul which are even more attractive. I love how he helps out abused women and children. He treated Maddie with kid gloves when necessary but turned all alpha when her safety was at risk. Even the secondary characters were well developed and added to the story.

Ms. Sheridan grabbed my attention from the very first page and she didn’t release me until the book’s emotionally satisfying conclusion. The tension built up at a perfect pace to keep me on the edge of my seat. I absolutely love it when an author can cause my heart to race and my pulse to pound. But even with the fantastic suspenseful story, Ms. Sheridan didn’t skimp on the romance. She managed to blend the two perfectly to create a story that you will remember long after you have finished reading.

Trust Me is the second book in the Southern Night series. You can read this one as a standalone without becoming confused though the characters from the first book do appear in this one. The first book, Teach Me, is just as wonderful as Trust Me so I would recommend reading both books. And wow that I have read both, I have made an important discovery. I really need to start reading Ms. Sheridan’s books in the morning so that I don’t have to worry about staying up all night. I will definitely remember that when I read her next book.
