A few people have said that theirs failed and brok their entire system, my one has not. Once plugged in and left alone if will not go anywhere!
The lead itself is 6 inches long (15cm) so make sure that the PCIe on your GPU is no more than 6 inches away from your molex outlet. Mine was a tight fit I must say, but with a little bit of cable managment it went in and has been working perfectly for over a week now.
Quality is suprisingly high for the price (I paid something in the region of 2 pounds something for mine at the time) I was however a little worried about the loosness of the wires in the molex end, but I was not to fear as it plugged in with no issues at all.
A good product for a great price, that does what it says on the tin!
1. when the product was delivered i opened the box to all the wires were not attached to the connectors and had to connect them myself
2, after several attempts to connect this to my psu cables i had to take the item apart so i could connect it another way,
3, once i had got this item operational in my pc it very quickly gave out on me (about 2 to 3 days passed) which once again left me without a Gcard.
granted this may not be the case for everybody but i found this item to be an annoying as i only needed it until payday where i could get my new psu, but it didn't even last a week
This is a very flimsy piece of kit, with the Pins moving about they have to be Manoeuvred very carefully into place.
I would not feel safe with this in a Build for any length of time, but for testing you could make do.
I also purchased the same item by StarTech (retail boxed) £2.99 from my Local Comp Shop which was a proper solid product.
I don't know if this is the same retail item on Amazon by StarTech but it can't be worse than this from Kenable
