Format: Audio Download
The story seemlessly unfolds through friendly but comedically terse responses (which have been demanded in explanation by an increasingly bewildered stranger) so there is no clunkiness which is often involved in backstory and introductions making the curt length of the book almost a feature of the tale rather than a pitfall.

As another reviewer commented this was surprisingly well written, only because I had never heard of it and it doesn't have any other reviews ( an indication it hasn't been read by as many people as other lesser offerings).

I will definitely get the second book though it unfortunately does not seem to be available on audio, not an issue for me but frustrating for others who may be limited to audiobooks.

Update: It is now available in audio book, which I have, and is again, brilliant.
The only downside is that the next book in the series, in my opinion, is just not as good.

I'm a sucker for anything set in Edinburgh and so I was looking forward to this short story. The idea of troublesome pixies lurking in an Edinburgh attic made me chuckle as did the image of a redhead chasing them down with a paintball gun. I am looking forward to more tales from Miss Ramage.

Michael and his family are moving in to a new home, thankfully he discovers he has a really helpful if unusual neighbour called Hattie. Hattie with a bobble hat.
Pixies it seems like to live in lofts; much hilarity ensues at Michaels disbelief, Hattie trying to catch them and the Pixies trying not to be caught! I shall never look at a hedgehog the same way.
I really enjoyed this short story, it made me laugh out loud several times and I thought the characters had a good depth given to them for a shorty. The world Gayle Ramage creates sounds like an exciting one and I look forward to more.
Chris Barnes narration really gives a great edge to the story.
