"One of the most mouth-watering page-turners this author has ever written, a book I simply could not read fast enough. A gripping, angsty must-read cover to cover." Natasha is a Book Junkie
"Alessandra Torre has mastered the art of creating a must-read book with Trophy Wife! I was entranced in Nathan and Candy's torrid love affair with every page." New York Times bestselling author Lisa Renee Jones
"Dripping with sex and intrigue, Trophy Wife took me on an unpredictably steamy ride of intolerable cruelty and lush romance. This is pure, unadulterated erotica woven seamlessly into a complex storyline where two broken characters use each other for the one thing they each need. The physical nature of the relationship in this story is an entity in itself, driving the plot, altering the game, molding this dynamic into something it was never meant to be. And it's both beautifully done and explosively hot." Angie & Jessica's Dreamy Reads--This text refers to the paperback edition.

I loved this story and it's twists and turns.
The characters and dialogue were good.
My only point of annoyance was when Nathan blackmailed candy to service his business associate. It explains why but I would have thought someone as strong as candy would have said no or hit him.
I was rooting for the other guy but this story twisted again.

The story was fairly interesting though and quite different for a change as the heroine was a stripper. I thought it was heading in the dark suspense direction but then it changed completely and quite frankly I was disappointed by the end. The storyline with Drew threw me, then it went nowhere and it made no sense to even have him featured. The main relationship was pretty much pure erotica written in a porno style and not romantic and I felt no love and no bond between the h/h. After Candy's scenes with Drew, my respect for her went out the window and that's when I started loosing interest. I pretty much skimmed over the last few chapters. Nathan also did not appeal to me.
I believe this was an early work and was originally in a serial form, so I most likely would not have started the book in the first place as I don't like serials. I am however intending to read 'Hollywood Dirt'. This one just did not deliver for me. 2.5 stars.
She's a struggling stripper. He's a billionaire.
He has an offer for her that she shouldn't refuse. He wants to entice his ex fiancee out of hiding. She needs money to pay for her father's medical care.
He offers her a contract of marriage, devoid of any romance but with an inclusion of sex with him. They have a strong physical attraction & their sex is hot, albeit at times with a side of humiliation (not something I was a fan of). Lacking an emotional connection, she turns to his bodyguard who is willing to cuddle after they have sex. But can you really call it an affair if their marriage is of convenience & they sleep in separate rooms???
The first half jumped around a bit for me. And unfortunately there was only two or three chapters where I liked all the characters.
Whether you have read the Dumont Diaries or not you won't be able to put down the 'Trophy Wife'. This story is a standalone and is told from dual POV's. I have to admit that it's been so long since I'd read the Dumont Diaries that I felt I was reading something new and totally addictive. Reading back on my reviews written originally, I referenced how much I disliked the characters but by the end understood them more... I think that that's not the case in this re-write, you don't dislike them as much - more that you are completely gobsmacked by there actions through out.
I enjoyed Nathan and Candace's hot, steamy, distant yet passionate relationship. It's a true rags to riches story. A romance that's challenging and intense but heavily conflicted.
If you are new to Candace and Nathan's story be prepared to be pulled into their deliciously filthy love story. I enjoyed getting to know the dominant and messed up Nathan Dumont, and the sassy former stripper Candy. In short, the story goes Nathan the multi-millionaire comes into a strip club specifically asking for Candy. Offers her a deal no one could turn down. Candy is trying to pay off student loans and credit card debit while her father is sick. She has much more sass in this rewrite... I liked her 'Life as a trophy wife? Piece of freaking cake.' Yet little does she know the rollercoaster that her life is now on...
The entire book was utterly compelling and you spend a lot of time wondering what is happening? I finished this story in one sitting as I had to try and put this complex but addictive puzzle together. The suspense was fantastic I got absorbed in this amazing story. If You are in search of a twisted love story with hot and hotter sex scenes? Without a doubt a must read.
In most stories like this there is a trade off for the 'pretend' situation involving a contract etc and that's what is supposed to happen. Except we know they fall in love & there is a HEA. So how does this one play out?
Our main characters are Nathan & Candy, the millionaire & stripper. The question you ask is why he wants Candy as his wife. The answer is twofold & you'll have to read it to find out. However the tension builds, once she has become the 'Trophy Wife'. Many scenarios run through her head but as usual finds herself falling for Nathan, who clearly says this is just about sex and I must say it is one hot read.
Just as an aside you may ask what part does Drew play in this? I was surprised however that he took a step back in the end. Oh well I thought he might have fought a bit more.
My reviews aren't always like everyone's they reflect my mood or feelings after reading this, so sometimes can be a bit off track from the story. Dont let me put you off as this has a lot of hotness, suspense, drama & as usual an Alessandra Torre twist or two.
