Immerse yourself in sound
Utilizing proprietary Dolby Headphone technology, TRITTON's 720+ 7.1 Surround Headset replicates the immersive feeling of high-end home theater setups. Envelop yourself in a richly detailed, 3D sound field as your favorite videogames spring to life. Game and chat volume can be adjusted independently and on-the-fly for a gaming experience customized to suit your individual play style.
Selectable Voice Monitoring lets you hear your own voice - - and avoid shouting during late-night gaming sessions - - through the performance-balanced 50mm speakers. A detachable and flexible performance mic ensures all your conversations over Xbox LIVE and the PlayStation Network come through crystal-clear.
Immersive 3D directional audio powered by Dolby headphone technology
Dolby Headphone provides 7.1-channel surround sound to enhance directional awareness and create a detailed, spacious audio landscape which sounds as if it's beyond the limits of the headset. Hearing each and every disturbance within a game's environment gives you the competitive advantage by allowing you to locate your enemies long before they sense your presence.
Amplified 50mm speakers with neodymium magnets
Neodymium drivers are the highest quality available for use in commercial headsets. Each earcup houses a 50mm speaker which outputs high-fidelity game and chat audio for rich bass and crisp undistorted highs.
Selectable EQ settings for movies and music
Need to give your hands a break from a stint of marathon gaming? Take a well-earned rest and catch a movie or kick back and listen to your favorite tunes. The equalizer settings on the headset's decoder box help maintain your media's original acoustic properties and allow you to fine-tune your personal audio experience.
Hear your own voice with selectable voice monitoring (SVM)
SVM allows you to choose whether or not you want to hear your voice through the headset. When certain situations - - like those late-night gaming sessions - - dictate that you talk softly or loudly into the mic, easily activate/deactivate SVM with the push of a button and take control of all your conversations.
Independent game and voice volume control
If the chatter from your online rivals gets distracting and starts to hinder your gameplay experience, just turn a dial on the headset's in-line audio controller to quickly tune them out. Game volume can also be adjusted on-the-fly so you can drown out your foe's voice but still hear stealthy in-game footsteps creeping up behind you.
Flexible performance mic can be removed when not in use
When not communicating over Xbox LIVE or the PlayStation Network and just listening to music or watching a film, a headset's microphone only gets in the way. Problem solved with the 720+ 5.1 Surround Headset's removable solution - - it provides the freedom to use the mic only when necessary.
An improved, easy-to-follow quick-start guide makes setup a snap. No matter which console or controller you have or how the console connects to the TV, the 720+ is ready to go right out of the box. All required cables and adapters are included to help ensure you can be setup and playing within minutes.
Designed for extreme comfort
Headset comfort is of utmost importance during extended gaming sessions. The 720+ keeps your ears comfy with its padded, adjustable headrail - - which extends an extra 1.25 inches on either side to accommodate a wide range of head sizes - - and soft, pliable earcups which encapsulate your ears in an immersive sound field while keeping ambient sounds at bay. A new, more flexible headrail improves both comfort and durability, and the earcups now swivel to provide a comfortable around-the-neck resting position.

This was a minor issue however and I continued to use the headset (with the voice feedback turned off) BUT after a month or so of using the product I noticed small cracks appearing in the headband, like I was pulling it too far apart and now after 3-4 months one of the earphones just cracked off for no reason. I use the headset A LOT but this is clearly unacceptable quality for such an expensive model. Advise trying something else.
Build Quality 1/5
I purchased this product originally in Jan 2013. Was extremely happy with the sound quality, the directional surround sound is extremely precise and it has good bass, good high frequency response and good mid-range sound too. Unfortunately around Dec 2013 I noticed that the headset had 3 cracks along the central headband. Given time these cracks would have propagated resulting in catastrophic structural failure of the headset - in layman's terms: it would've snapped. I immediately contacted Amazon they very quickly arranged for me to return the item and had a replacement issued.
So now I had my 2nd Tritton 720+. Unfortunately in April 2014 (headset less than 5 months old) I again noticed a crack forming on the underside front edge of the central headband. Same issue again: structural failure. I immediately contacted Amazon and they then arranged for the item to be returned and issued me a full refund - thank god Amazon's customer service is so great.
FYI - I used to wear the headset with the both sides loosened/lowered by 2 clicks (any tighter was uncomfortable and any looser moved around too much on my head). When the headset is not worn the earcups naturally sit about 8-10 cm apart. This means that the central headband has to flex in order fit headset on your head, loosening the headset simply lowers the earcups and actually brings them slightly closer together - I noticed that the looser you wear it the greater the central headband has to flex. Unfortunately the central headband is composed of CHEAP PLASTIC which cannot sustain any amount of flex and will begin to crack after extended use.Read more ›
I'm using these on a pc and connected them to the optical port of my soundcard. Setup is FIDDLY, but worth it.
With a dolby digital live enabled soundcard these sound fantastic, easily the best sound I've ever had in games.
They also handle music very well but they do not shine in this area as much, but for gaming this is the best sound I've ever had.
I had a set of the Ax Pro's and these have better sound quality.
I actually got mine from Argos, but I ended up returning them, it might well be me, maybe I do not have the deposition to spend £110 on a pair of headphones, I was expecting to be blown away but was not.
I have a Samsung 40 inch TV, and whilst it certainly can not compete with the headphones it done a suitable enough job that I ended up taking them off whilst playing Halo 4 single player.
Where I noticed the difference, footsteps, the guns, and the grunts ingame chatter, these were clearly much better defined on this headset than coming out of my TV..
but does that warrant £110 (£130 from Amazon) to me no, to others maybe.
They were comfortable, though they made my ears really hot. I ended up ordering a pair of the Tritton Halo 4 headphones at £40, whilst not 7.1 I will use them for Multiplayer and can justify that expense...
Again it is difficult to fault (apart from the hum at low volume) but I was expecting some sort of epiphany of "wow this is why these are so expensive" but I did not get that, and for that it is a 3 star from me

I would recommend them to anyone that is looking to find good sound quality.
