The cover didn't grab me, I must admit. It looked too much like a man's western, which didn't appeal to my chick lit, light-hearted romance type of read. But the blurb sounded interesting, so I downloaded the sample - and was immediately hooked!

It had all the elements of a chick lit novel - fun, light-hearted with a little bit of exaggerated realism. The only difference is that the protagonist is male; but it could easily hold its own alongside any Matt Dunn's novels.

Ben Rider was unhappily married (only he didn't know it at the time), and when his wife died it shocked me, and I almost stopped reading. So glad I didn't! The death was sensitively done, but there was no lingering over it and soon the story moved on with the same humour and warmth that was there from the beginning. On the eve of her death Ben's imaginary friend reappears - Trinity. He has come to lead Ben into all sorts of scrapes all in the name of "his destiny".

Trinity is a cowboy (hence the cover) with three other personalities, which are hilarious in their own right. Love the cowardly pirate!

Ben's dry narration throughout the novel is a lot of fun, and has many laugh-out-loud moments. He meets Bonnie through his work, and when he discovers she has an imaginary friend all of her own, and one that he can see, well, I didn't think the book could get any funnier but it did!

Trinity is well-written and I can fully recommend it. A well-deserved 5 out of 5 from me.

This book's blurb is so intriguingly bizarre that I felt I had to read it, and I'm so glad I did! I loved Trinity, and I don't feel that anything I write about it will do it justice. Several times I found myself at the end of a chapter, wondering if I had time for one more, then finding myself four or five chapters later feeling a little bit guilty (only a little bit, mind you) about my neglected chores...

To start with, I can't really place it in one particular genre. Somehow this novel combines chick-lit - written by a man and with a male main character - with comedy, and is coloured with an element of fantasy. Oh, and a healthy dose of crime too. It sounds like it shouldn't work, I know. But it does.

The author's writing style is hilarious, and I laughed out loud on more than one occasion - and that doesn't happen often. Don't get me wrong, I have a sense of humour and I love watching comedy, but for some reason I rarely find a book that makes me actually want to laugh. The writing is also very engaging and entertaining, as is the dialogue between the characters.

Ben is a likeable main character, but for me the star of the show was Trinity. I LOVED Trinity as a character, and despite the fact that imaginary friends don't really exist and this book was set in the "real" world, his place in the novel was entirely believable. I would be very pleased if the author wrote another book about Trinity because I would love to read more!

I was lucky to have a bit of a lazy afternoon, so I started this book. I was very lucky to get this copy from the author! I wasn't sure at first if its the kind of book I would love to read, not much of a chit lit kinda gal. I was mistaken though, as this isn't really chit lit, its a little suspense, bit of love, and great humour.

The word TRINITY three in one, really good and apt title I thought. The imaginary friend smelling of chocolate, I think every woman would like one of them!! sniff sniff......

Oh did I mention it has a bit of crime in there too? Its a well rounded read and I enjoyed it more, much more than I thought I would [sorry Patrick LOL] I had read the blurb, and he did say, only if its something you might be interested to read. I am so glad I took him up on the offer though, I thoroughly enjoyed it and made a good read following on from my previous one.

I was laughing whilst reading, didn't realize I was, until my daughter said "what's so funny" so of course, she is inline to read this now.

Well written Patrick, and looking forward to many more.

Trinity is an apt title for this book in so many ways and it is difficult to place in a specific genre because it caters to more than one audience.
Trinity is crime, comedy, romance and fantasy all tied up into a very neat plot, and although there is a comfortable suspension of belief, the character's and the plot are consistent with the style and we are fully transported into Ben's world.
Anything laced with fantasy is not usually my reading choice, but the author has woven it so cleverly into the plot, that I was almost unaware of the imaginary aspects of the story.
It is a lighthearted tale, but not a simple one. It is frothy and very very funny, but at the same time it has a basic integrity which keeps us rooting for the good guy. This is mostly portrayed through the strength of character in Ben, and he appeals to both men and women; I think maybe because there is a nice balance of romantic love combined with the more laddish sequences!
The build up to the dramatic denouement is action packed, and will not disappoint.
Well written and engaging. A truly unique read.
