About the Author
Lauren Dane is a suburban mom with a salacious imagination that she's put to good use with her writing. Her favorite thing is when people tell her that she doesn't look like "someone who'd write those books."
She lives in the Northwest with her husband and three very rambunctious kids. She writes everything from paranormals to contemporary BDSM books and develops terrible crushes on all of her heroes. To date, she's contracted over thirty novels and novellas.
Trinity is her thirtieth published novel.

It started off as not a bad tale - Renee is a witch who doesn't like to use her latent powers and who is living her HEA with Gaelen, her cat-shifter partner. One day, she meets Jack, a were-shifter, who scents that she is his mate and makes a move on her, only to be told she's happily married. However, he persists and it turns out that all three are mates, and they begin a relationship.
SO, I thought that that would just make this tale hotter, but on the whole, this is a sensual romance, not an erotic one, as the sex scenes were not as frequent or graphic as her erotic novels, and more was left to the imagination. There were only 1/2 menage-a 3 scenes, but several M/F and a couple of M/M, but none were really passionate or descriptive.
This would have been fine, had the tale been really really good to make up for it, but though there were hints dropped, a baddy, family members weren't who or what they seemed, an unncessary 'cat-fight' type meeting between Renee and Grace (a were-female with a bond with Jack - I had to ask, why was this included and why did it not go anywhere? TOTALLY anti-climactic), at the end, we didn't get everything clarified. Yes, the almost-absent baddy got taken out, though we only know this as Gaelen goes off for a run 'to work off the kill', but there was no mention of who, why, how, and the issue of Renee's family doesn't get explained. Her father and stepmother who were made out to be indifferent and bitchy respectively, came to nothing yet, though no doubt more will be revealed in the next book.
But will I get that next book? I am not sure, as this one hasn't made me want to read it. The lack of heat, the lack of interesting characters and the slow pace and false trails-isms have out me off it. I know that it's a two-story arc (as the author calls it), but this is described as a standalone HEA for the trio. It might have been, but it lacked emtotion and depth and we didn't really see much interaction between the three - it was more one on one scenes. There is also no info on the author's website as to when it will be out, though her 2011 release schedule is already up.
Overall, a pretty disappointing read - which is a real shocker for LD.
I'VE RECENTLY PURCHASED A KINDLE MACHINE AND CAN TELL "ROROBLU'S MUM" THE SECOND BOOK "REVELATION" IS AVAILABLE TO DOWNLOAD NOW AS I'VE JUST DOWNLOADED IT. I HAVEN'T READ IT YET BUT IT'S FLAGGED AS THE STORY OF MAX (GALEN'S BROTHER) & KENDRA (RENEE'S SISTER) SO PRESUMABLY IT WILL ANSWER ALL THE QUESTIONS LEFT HANGING IN THIS BOOK.
I'LL LET YOU ALL KNOW ONCE I'VE READ IT
Because there is little known about the family, it is difficult to see where this series is going. Possibly the on going threat from mages wanting to steal Renee's power and the unsolved mystery behind her mother's death are still unanswered could be the underlying story through your. Difficult to say by Will keep reading the series to find out. It will be nice to read about Jaguar shifters for a change. See what quirks they have.

Now about the relationship. The story had the makings of a good paranormal exrotic tale, but it falls way short of the mark. To the author, if you have issues writing erotic scenes, then don't do it. Stick with what you know and what you're comfortable with. Because clearly you have an issue wrting explicit sex scenes and an issue with a true menage relationship. Except for some kissing and the guys pulling on each others c**ks, we didn't know until the last pages of the book if they ever got physical with each other and that statement was made in passing in general conversation, and we never know if Renee is taken (not orally) by both at the same time. Let me be clear, I read erotic romance because the sex is written very explicit and very vivid. When I want to read regular romance novels, I have my favorite authors for those books.
This series reads like very very bad porn. No one makes love they are all f******. There isn't romance in the bedroom at all.
Warning: If you have a problem with two men being lovers you might want to skip this book. I'm a little iffy on the subject but Dane does an excellent job describing their feelings and love without being graphic.
