About the Author

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author L. P. Dover is a southern belle living in North Carolina with her husband and two beautiful girls. Before she began her literary journey she worked in periodontics, enjoying the wonderment of dental surgeries. She loves to write, but she also loves to play tennis, go on mountain hikes and white water rafting, and has a passion for singing. Her two youngest fans expect a concert each and every night before bedtime, usually Christmas carols. Dover has written countless novels, including her Forever Fae series, the Second Chances series, the Gloves Off series, the Armed & Dangerous series, the Royal Shifters series, the Society X series, the Circle of Justice series, and her standalone novel Love, Lies, and Deception. Her favorite genre to read and write is romantic suspense, but if she got to choose a setting in which to live, it would be with her faeries in the Land of the Fae.

Wow, I Loved Trigger, an exciting second chance romance filled with suspense.

About the plot
Emma and Preston were high school sweethearts but suddenly Preston disappears leaving Emma behind, Emma tries and fails to find him and moves on with her life were as Preston is stuck in the past.

Preston's Mother and sister were brutally murdered unable to let it go for years Preston has undergone training and now works as a type of vigilante with the FBI with his military background he is part of Circle of Justice. Preston's job is to target criminals who escape the justice system.

Preston couldn't save his sister or mother that night and is wriggled with guilt, the fact they never found the killer of his family drives him to kill more and more. Noticing the change in Preston His boss's intervene who are also his friends and come up with a plan to get the old Preston back.

Emma and Preston meet again when she is introduced to him by her boss, 12 years have passed and Preston is no longer the sweet person Emma new.

It's a slow start for Preston & Emma, he has completely shut himself off from everyone even his sick father and refuses to let anyone get close again.

Trigger is a second chance romance where the hero has to find himself again and it takes a love of a woman to do that. There's mystery and a crime to be solved as Preston continues to look at clues regarding his sister and mother's death and the closer he gets with Emma's help the plot becomes exciting and there's a change in Preston's character like a weight is being lifted.

I enjoyed Emma and Preston's journey and the whole plot from start to finish was captivating holding my attention throughout.

A good mixture of drama, angst, hotness told in dual pov's and leads to a hea.

Definitely looking forward to more in this series

This was a really enjoyable story although I did find it a little hard to get into to begin with. Mainly because I didn't connect with Preston straight away. As when he was first introduced he came across to me as not the most likable guy. Yet that did change especially as the story progressed and more of his job and past are revealed and definitely once he reconnected with Emma and his past revealed to her. That's when I got completely sucked in and really started to enjoy it and the overall story was engaging to read. I also thought Preston and Emma shared a spark, which did lead to a few hot moments between them. As for the suspense element I never really felt it but I did enjoy Preston and Emma investigating his sister and mums murders in their own unique way. I also did figure out who the murderer was way before it was revealed in the story. Nevertheless I did think this was a great start to a new series and I'm looking forward to reading Wade's story when it's released. I would also recommend Trigger to others too.

Emma has the task of saving the ruthless killer Preston from sinking too deeply into the darkness that fills his world, then the tables are turned when a serial killer has her in his sights. Can they save each other before it's too late?
This is a seriously good book, it's a thrilling, murder mystery romance that I couldn't put down until I found out who the murderer was, by then I was hurtling toward the gripping climax of this brilliant read. I loved it and would highly recommend it!
I can't wait for Wade's story in the next Circle Of Justice Novel: Target.

It started well and the storyline was OK, however the story lacked grit.
The ending epilogue seemed silly considering it was a story about an assassin trying to find out who killed his sister and mum. I didn't like the mash up of music industry with assassins, it didn't work for me.
Otherwise characters and dialogue was good.

Well that was great! Loved it!

I have read this authors Gloves Off series and i absolutely loved those but somewhere along the line i missed a few books and forgot to go back. I'm thinking now i got some catching up to do!

I love a bit of suspense and this has it in bucketfuls!

Preston is a killer. He's set on avenging the death of his mother and sister. An empty shell he lives for the thrill of the kill.

Emma is an old college friend. She was once close to Preston and then he disappeared. She always wondered about him and if he was ok as he left without a goodbye.

Years later their paths cross. Preston is determined not to let her in. He had no time for a girl. But the minute he sets eyes on Emma there is no denying what he feels for her.

Emma gets caught up in something from Preston's past. He has to protect her. He can't fail again.

Preston's story is truly heart breaking. I really felt for him from the start. He's just lost in his grief and guilt i think and that just made me want to hug him! He's doing what is right but that's not always easy and he kind of lost himself along the way.

I love how Emma brings him out. She's able to pry out the normal guy in him. Gives him back a bit of his soul. She's an amazing character both strong and gritty but also a little vulnerable.

There's some pretty steamy scenes thrown in for your reading pleasure. Mmmmmm yep you're gonna want a piece of Preston!

The supporting characters are a great addition to the story and you get little hints of their characters. I'm not sure who I'm looking forward to reading about the most. Maybe all of them? lol

The story really kept me gripped.
