Unlike many of today's bands, Travis have proven that you don't simply need an effective PR bandwagon and ego to succeed in the stressful world that they call the music biz. However they have kept out of the limelight and as a result have had their fans and music observers gasping for more. Although this book is not authorised it proves to be a very interesting read about Fran and the boys. Mike Black follows their lives from their wee childhood years, right up to the period just before "Coming Around was released". He also provides the reader with a selection of pictures of the band (and check out some of the early ones!), as well as giving an extensive bibliography. I would have to say that fans would especially like this book as it does go into depth about songs etc. However it is worthwhile to simply read "Travis - Closer every year", as undoubtly the band are THE BAND of the moment

A great book that outlines how the Scotish band made it to the top. It also includes some great colour photo plates from past and present. I learnt a lot that I didn't know from this book about my fave band and how they became "closer every year" to making it big.

I brought this book with the expectations of it being an average account, with it being unofficial. But it honestly surprised me. It isn't 100% orrect, but the pictures are brilliant.
It is perfect for fans of any ages, supplying pages of information and quotes. It is probably best for the die-hard fans, who simpley have to own everything released about the band because others should possibley wait for an official book or autobiography.
But it's good, if not for the pictures alone.

This book is a fairly interesting read but just ignores too many details and has a few too many errors and omisions for my liking.

Very good quality for a second hand book. Excellent content which is appealing to every Travis-maniac! I absolutely love it.
