Product Description

Product Description

A founding member of the iconic Britpop band Ocean Colour Scene and guitarist for Paul Weller since 1992, the Solihull native has long been regarded as one of Britain's most talented musicians and a part of the country's musical heritage. The affection and knowledge for his craft amassed over the years are truly tangible on the latest thoughtfully constructed 13-track album. The record radiates relevant retro as a 21st century ode to Sixties psychedelia. From the get go, dreamy opener "Any Way The Wind Blows" immerses us in an exploration of sounds in the best of British musical tradition. Steve's skilled song writing and expert multi-instrumentalism are evident on tracks such as "Sheer Inertia" and "Travel Wild - Travel Free". This record is a true labour of love from a man who clearly knows how to write and use catchy hooks, hip vibes and lush melodies.

What can I say ? In everything this criminally under rated musician does he exceeds expectation & manages to again & again create musical genius with an almost disdainful air of modernist genius - In my opinion THIS album reaches into areas Stevie has never ventured into in his work with Ocean Colour Scene, Paul Weller or solo - an undoubted heir to Mr Browns ' hardest working man in music' title, That Stevie Cradock manages to make almost everything he conjures up sonically seem effortless & elegantly poised - This album deserves the 'masterpiece' tag often applied to the 1st Stone Roses Album, All Mod Cons, Stanley Road or Revolver - It's on my mobile phone - it's on my laptop, it's in my car stereo & my home hi-fi .....I suppose I'd better get it on vinyl too so the turntable isn't left out - For me a real 'revelation' on this album is the ethereal vocal work of Mr Cradocks good Lady Mrs sally Cradock - when do we get Sallys own solo release ??? Travel Wild - Travel Free... BUT....DON'T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT A COPY OF THIS GEM

Hooked from track 1. Sounds better every time i've played it. On a par with The Kundalini Target. Top marks from me

This is another good solo effort from OCS's Steve Cradock. The sound is very much late 60's psychedelia with a modern feel.
Well worth adding to any music collection. Recommend

Great album i was really looking forward to hearing it and wasn't disappointed. Steve is developing into a great solo artist in his own right.
