This short collection of entries titled Travel and The Single Girl by Jenny Stallard was a quick and effortless book to journey through. Although the style is a bit too blog-like to justify any more money than a cheap £1.99, such an impersonal tone does fortunately suit the somewhat inconsequential subject matter; whether or not to take your favourite pair of skinny jeans or your Chanel eye shadow. Yet, this wisdom may indeed be valuable to any young adventurer, and it talks directly to the target market; the young, single, and travelling-to-mingle girl. A perfect length before planning your journey or downloading on your Kindle using the WiFi in the departure lounge, this book will guide you through the pre-adventure nerves, the hard decisions in choosing activities, and even the post-travelling-blues parts. Relayed in five topical chapters, there are relevant anecdotes throughout that keep the book grounded and empathise with any worry you may have for any element of your trip. With a particular portion to advise on the oxymoronic `Romance and The Single Girl' it's a guidebook like no other, and is like the friend in your pocket if ever you decide to take off to see the world alone. Just remember the rule: whatever you bring, you must carry. It's a good thing then that this e-book doesn't weigh even a thing in your luggage.

I read this book having just returned from a trip and it was such a relief to read that someone else went through exactly what I did. Stallard does a brilliant job of addressing all those doubts, niggles and problems you have, both abroad and upon return home. It's full of priceless advice, hints and tips to get you through those early days in hostels when you're trying to make friends, joins groups and tours, or just get your bearings. A perfect guide, particularly if you are about to go off on your first ever adventure.

What a great book! I definitely needed this when I last went travelling. So witty, fun and absolutely right about so many elements of being on road. Any woman, single or not, will appreciate the details and advice in this book. A must for the girl on the go!

I really enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it to any woman who is contemplating going off on any type of holiday on their own. Whether you are going for a short weekend break or three day jolly or you are off for a worldwide round the globe trip, this little book will help give you even more motivation to head off on your own.

You will get tips about the type of things you should pack and the type of things you shouldn't pack, what type of footwear is suitable and how to ensure that you still feel like yourself while you are away. Hint - take your fave jeans or makeup if you wish, even if you are climbing mountains.

One point that the book covers is how to interact with perfect strangers without feeling like a weirdo and how to deal with the issue of sex on your travels. Hey, you are single, not frigid! lol.

If you have any worries about whether you will survive out in the big wide world on your own, this book will help to alay your fears.

There is so much world to see and if you haven't got a friend who wants to travel with you or if you want to step out on your own, Travel And The Single Girl will encourage, support and endorse your decision.

Happy Travels to all The Single Ladies!

I'm about to go off on my gap year and have got used to people thinking I'm brave, mad or a bit of both. This no-nonsense practical, yet fun guide is just the antidote to my mother's fussing and gives very useful advice from someone who has been there and done that. Even for the things you think are common sense- like meeting people whilst travelling alone which was a huge concern for me- are covered. This book has been so helpful in allaying my worries and questions about travelling alone, I'd especially recommend it if you're interested in travelling abroad but don't know if you can as this book will help you decide. At just £1.99 this book won't break the bank for any shoe-string travellers.
