Just saw this the other day on the horror channel and wasnt expecting it to be so good! The acting is really good by everyone and the story is pretty good. Some of the deaths are very brutal and gory but if you can stomach stuff out of say the Saw films then you will be alright with this. The deaths are actually very good and it is a very gory, sexy film with a great soundtrack. Actually one the best horror films I have seen in a long time!

Norma has grown up in a trailer park, she's finally met a nice man and she has hopes of love and escaping from her dull, sleazy life. When she goes to meet up with him, a couple of the rednecks who also live in the trailer park end up killing him. Norma storms off and bumps into a man, the man talks her into seeking revenge and escape and gives her a gun. She goes back to the park and kills everyone, she then proceeds to kill herself. This happened in 1981, it's now 2008 and we are with Pastor Lewis and six problem teens (three boys and three girls) who are travelling back from God camp. It's raining heavily and the Pastor crashes the van into a vehicle parked in the middle of the road, they get out and discover a sign that leads them to a trailer park. Once there it appears as though the park is abandoned, until they come across Norma who offers to take them in for the night. Before long they discover that Norma isn't all she seems to be, and all the people she killed 27 years ago are decomposed zombies intent on killing them.

The film is pretty well acted considering the actors know how ludicrous the plot is, everybody plays their roles in a certain way that you can only get away with in a film like this. It's extremely tongue in cheek and has no illusions of being anything other than a fun horror comedy, it's because of this that I felt the movie worked. Norma played by Nichole Hiltz really reminded me of Jaime Pressly in My Name Is Earl, both in terms of looks and accent.

It's a straight to DVD movie but had a budget of $3,250,000, a much higher budget than this type of movie normally gets. It's been put to good use as the zombie make-up all looks very good, the picture also looks like a big budget film instead of the very grainy poor quality you sometimes get.

All Norma(Nichole Hiltz) wants is to meet a nice man and escape from the trailer park she's living in. She meets such a man, but the other occupants of the trailer park are offended that she's going to leave her roots. There is a fight, Norma's fiancee is impaled on railings, and Norma swears vengeance. After meeting a stranger on the road, she returns to the trailer park, gun in hand and kills everybody. She then dies after blowing up her own trailer.
Fast forward 20 years, and Pastor Lewis and his group of young sinners, on their way back from God camp, get lost in a storm. They find themselves at the entrance to a trailer park, and their hostess with the mostest is dear Norma, looking delectable in a skimpy red dress. The Pastor is especially excited by her 'beauty'. However, appearances can be deceptive....
This is great, ghoulish fun. It revels in the gory mayhem it provides the viewer with, and the best thing to do is come along for the ride. It does doff its cap to Herschell Gordon Lewis(especially Two Thousand Maniacs) on a couple of occasions, but is inventive enough in its own right to succeed. The actors all do a pretty good job(some hidden under latex masks for the majority of the film), but top marks must go Nichole Hiltz who is absolutely brilliant as both the living and the living dead Norma.
I will have to plead ignorance, and admit to not having read the comic books this film is based on. I'll leave that to more knowledgeable reviewers. What I can say for sure, is that is a great little horror, gory, tounge in cheek and a really enjoyable watch. 4 out of 5
P.s- Just wait till you see the 'happy ending' at the Asian Spa!
P.s#2- Theres a great 'behind the scenes' look at the film as part of the extras, with many of the cast interviewed in their great zombie make up

You know what sort of film you are in for when it starts with two hillbilly types talking about Herschell Gordon Lewis. As the title suggests it's set on a trailer park and we soon meet all the trash that live there. All the characters who live there are real fun but Norma the trailer park queen soon kills them and burns down the park.

Twenty or so years later a god bother-er and his group of misfit kids get stranded at the trailer park where an undead Norma offers them accommodation for the night. As the group retire they are greeted to the returning trailer park zombies and much silly gore and shenanigans. The movie presents nothing new, it is light heated fun for about the first hour then some scenes feel a little long as it nears the end. The DVD comes with a great comic thats fun.

this is a fairly decent flick zombie type flick.it's not your run
of the mill for the genre as far as how the zombies came to be.that
story is actually pretty interesting.i liked that original aspect of
it.the zombies themselves don't make an appearance until over halfway
through the movie, but once they do,things get ugly and bloody
disgusting.the movie is more of a dark comedy and quasi-spoof than
horror,in my opinion.it pays tribute to(or rips off, depending on your
perspective),many classic, and not so classic horror films.it's not
original, but, like i said, the set up is great.but it is lots of
fun,(even funny at times)very entertaining,and fast paced.there are
also some great songs in the movie.i will definitely seek out the
soundtrack.for me,Trailer Park of Terror is a 3.5/5
