Touch of Winter is a quick short read that take place after The Pleasures of Winter. So it is highly recommended that you read the book before you read this. You can still enjoyed it even if you haven't read it but I think you will appreciate more and you have already been introduced to the characters and their lifestyle.

What a wonderful little extra this is. After I finished The Pleasures of Winter I was itching for more. I was so wrapped up in the world that Evie Hunter had create I was actually heartbroken when it was over. Because I wanted there to be more. So I downloaded this onto my kindle and it was perfect!

It is a must read if you loved the first book. I am not usually big on romance, honestly I am not. But there is one scene in this that made be melt. I was crying and grinning like a cheshire cat because it was perfect.

What are you waiting for you? Go now and getting reading The Pleasures of Winter and don't forget to download this little gem because you will regret not reading it.

If this had been a freebie I'd have rated it 4 stars but I didn't feel it was worth the price I paid so it lost a star for that.

A Touch of Winter is a very short story (around 30 pages) that is basically an epilogue for The Pleasures of Winter. Abbie has a surprise planned for Jack to celebrate their first anniversary but when she arrives at his house earlier than expected she's in for quite a shock when she discovers Jack in his playroom with another woman. Feeling hurt and betrayed Abbie makes a run for it but Jack isn't going to let her go easily and sets out to prove they were meant to be together.

I have to admit that I was irritated by Jack's actions in the story, I think any woman who walked into the same situation that Abbie did would have had a similar reaction to her and I didn't blame her in the slightest for the way she walked out on him. If Jack had come after her and apologised when he explained what she had seen then I would have found it much easier to forgive him but the way he turned it around and put all the blame on her because she ran out on him really annoyed me. Yes, she probably should have stopped and asked him what the hell was going on but if he'd been open about what he was up to right from the beginning then they'd never have found themselves in that situation in the first place. I have to admit that the make up scene was very enjoyable though!

A Touch of Winter is the kind of story that a lot of authors offer as freebies on their website and I have to admit that when I purchased this from Amazon I was expecting more than I got.

I can't help it I am so in love with Jack and Abbie's story that this novella could have been 10 pages long and I would have still been happy. After finishing The Pleasures of Winter I wrote in my review that I wondered if there would be more about Jack and Abbie and yep this was a nice little conclusion for them. I strongly advise to read The Pleasures of Winter first, to me it's obvious but to some it may not be.

If I am totally truthful I could have read another couple of hundred pages about them easily, their story and their characters are just so engaging. But I think whatever the authors did here short or long they would not be able to satisfy all their audience. Some would want shorter and whinge the story had been dragged out and some would want longer and whinge it's too short - me I am happy to settle for whatever gets published about them but I have to be truthful I did wait till this novella was free as the price tag for it seemed a little steep. My patience paid off, I got my latest little fix of Jack and Abbie and can now put the money I saved towards purchasing The Pleasures of Summer when it's released.

I just can't say enough though how excellent Jack and Abbie's characters are, so engageable, I truly hope all of Evie Hunter's future characters are going to be this colourful and just as fun.

I found this book enjoyable to read, it wasn't fast paced and isn't going to suprise you much. But I liked it all the same. The part that is set in the jungle is probably my favourite, I thought it was quite exciting. It doesn't go into as much detail about BDSM as other books, which I suppose is a good or bad thing depending on what you are looking for!

If you haven't read The Pleasures of Winter I would recommend you do so first. If you have, this ties things up nicely for Jack & Abbie (and Kev & Kit) and is an epilogue that takes place a year on from where TPoW finished. For a short read it is crammed full of romance, steaminess and feistiness and I wished it had been a bit longer!

Really enjoyed this short story, I loved pleasures of winter and the character of Jack and abbie. After I finished pleasures of winter I really hoped there would be something else and was really pleased when I found this on my kindle. I love a happy ending so I was thrilled to have read this!
