All I need to make my wish list complete is a decent (LED) front light. Preferably one that fits on the forks! The best I found so far fits my forehead - not totally
Generally, I prefer to use lock nuts on bikes. They tend to stay tight.
Thanks to other contributors for pointing out the vulnerabilities. Forewarned is forearmed.
This light is designed to fit onto the plate on the rear of your luggage carrier, I only realised that I didn't have one, when the item arrived. Unperturbed, I had my husband nip out to buy some slightly longer set screws and drilled my topbox to enable me to fit the light.
Brilliant! Larger than most available lights and very bright too. Just what I need - and it must be good, people are asking me where they can buy one too.
Others have said that they found the cover came off too easily, I thought this at first, as it can be pulled off with just fingernails, however, It needs the force to be applied at one end, so I've never had it come off while cycling, even over curbs and bumps on my bike which has no suspension.
this product is not defective or flimsy, the previous unit has had a hard 1 and a half years daily use in all weathers including snow, ice, rain (the usual British weather) without fail. My boys still use the old unit (still working) as a toy for their Halo type games.
you must check your rack has the correct fittings for it, my rack needed help, i fashioned mine with a thin metal plate and a bolt underneath it to prevent it slipping off, however unlikely this is.
Unit comes preloaded with batteries (brilliant!) and ready to go in minutes after fixing.
It has 4 light patterns, on permanent, flashing all lights and the utterly annoying but eye catching to other road users multi sequence where each light flashes very briefly. lights are very very bright and batteries last a lot longer if you use the any of the flashing sequences. I stick to the second one and also use a backup static light to be sure.
Thoroughly recommended and fit for for use. My Son will be getting one for his bike this winter too.
NO EXCUSE for car drivers to say they didn't see you, unless they are still tweeting on their phone while driving!
