When my front tyre was shredded a few weeks ago, I decided to treat myself to some nice slicks (which really do make a difference in speed) and the levers which are a part of this review. Still took a good 30 minutes or so, and at first I was very cautious about how much pressure I applied; but then i decided - if they snap, then they snap and i will write a damning review. Instead they were amazing. I may even get around to changing my other tyre.
On a side note ... I also use mine as a door wedge
Update - 28-4-2012
I recently began cycling a new and longer route on my way home from work and the road is .. well not quite ideal for anything less than a tank. To cut a long story short; I was forced over by a bus and my back tyre ran alongside a raised drain, shredding the outer layer of my back tyre but not puncturing it. I didn't notice this until 2 days ago but decided to wait until today before changing it in case I had any problems changing to a new tyre (I rely on my bike for my work commute).
Last time I used these levers I was very cautious as I didn't want them to snap. This time I threw caution to the wind and really worked them. My thought being that I had invested in some good tyres and would therefore have less chance of using these levers for quite some time.
Thinking about it now ... I don't think I could snap these levers even if I tried (not with bare hands at least. I have upgraded this to the full stars now. They are a worthwhile investment.
