Tony Kerr grew up in a small mining village in the North East of England. He is an award nominated playwright, and an award winning communicator for his work at the University of Sunderland. Tony's first book, Super Maxwell and the Last Heroes was written for his son, Nathan. His second book, Super Maxwell and the Burning Boys was published Christmas Eve 2009 and was written for everyone who enjoyed The Last Heroes (including Nathan). He is currently working on a third Super Maxwell book, The Isle of the Dead, and a non-Maxwell book, The Tell-Tale Boy, which was briefly optioned as a TV series for the BBC, and which Kerr describes as "Life on Mars for the under 15s"
