Product description
The United States has a military presence in two-thirds of countries around the world. A group of 12 have had enough and initiate a terror ultimatum called the Blacklist - a deadly countdown of escalating terrorist attacks on U.S. interests. Sam Fisher is the leader of the newly formed 4th Echelon unit: a clandestine unit that answers solely to the President of the United States. Sam and his team must hunt down these terrorists by any means necessary, and stop the Blacklist countdown before it reaches zero.
Key Features
- Operate Without Restrictions - Sam is back in his tactical suit and goggles, and he’s more deadly than ever. He is the only secret operative with the power to act above the law, and uses ruthless methods to interrogate enemies in order to extract crucial information that will prevent the next Blacklist attack. Pursuing the terrorists to the far reaches of the world, Sam flies from exotic locales to U.S. cities as he races against the clock to find out who’s behind the Blacklist. Thrilling gameplay is enhanced by full motion performance capture, creating a highly cinematic experience.
- Kill in Motion - Always one step ahead, Killing In Motion lets Sam strike with lethal precision by marking and executing multiple enemies in one fluid motion. Active Sprint allows him to traverse the environment easily and fluidly, climb walls and leap over barriers in order to reach his next target while on the move.
- Unleash the Power of 4th Echelon Prototypes - Splinter Cell Blacklist innovates from the roots of the franchise, and players can enjoy a series of twists on franchise favorites including reinvented classic weapons. Infiltrate terrorist cells by using new gadgets such as the upgraded snake cam and micro-trirotor drone which allows Sam to scout ahead, mark targets remotely, distract enemies, or explode with frag grenade force.Splinter Cell Blacklist is also bringing back fan-favorites like the sticky shocker, and for close quarters combat, players can wield the curved and brutal Karambit knife.
- Build a New Echelon - With a mandate directly from the President, Sam is building a whole new Echelon unit; his team, his way. Anna 'Grim' Grimsdottir is his technical operations manager, CIA operative Isaac Briggs brings additional firepower, and resident hacker Charlie Cole rounds out his support crew. 4th Echelon is a fully mobile ops unit with unlimited resources and cutting edge technology aboard the repurposed stealth airliner, the Paladin.
- Enjoy a Fully Integrated Experience - Sam and his team are aware of terrorist attacks in real time thanks to the Strategic Mission Interface (SMI). The SMI allows the team to receive data about mission objectives while on the move. Players can earn money for completing missions and objectives and buy upgraded weapons and items from the SMI hub aboard the Paladin.
Limited Edition includes the full game plus a steelbook containing:
-A map of the conflict zone
-The following digital content
- Exclusive Upper Echelon operational suit (5 armour pieces, with a unique visual and damage protection bonus)

Overall I am very happy with my purchase. I really like this game, I played all the splinter cell series, my favourite is the Conviction, and this game is better than I expected. Co-op and spy-merc game modes are brilliant. The only down side to the game was the character model, features, and voice does not look like an improvement to the previous Splinter Cell Conviction. The Character looks terrible in this game and even the voice. Sam Fisher looked great in Conviction and the voice was perfect, it fits the character. Personally I was very disappointed how they model the characters, If you have played the Conviction you will know what I am talking about.
If you're looking to buy this game, my advice please do, you'll have great time playing this game, also if you never played Splinter Cell before, this is a must buy game for your console.
Assault (Play it the wrong way and pretend your Batman with Bipolar)
Panther (Kill silently without anyone seeing you, use silencers and act like Liam Neeson)
Ghost (Not a single kill, you choose to deal with foes with chock holds, gas, tranquilizers or simply don't deal with them at all - you clever bugger you)
You'll get the most points for being as "Ghost" as possible and you can then use these points to get yourself some shiny new toys like improving your goggles, investing in a more silent stealth suit or save up for a silent sniper rifle for those more open missions. This made me happy because over the past few years I really get into making characters exactly how you would want them to be, it's your own vision of what you think Sam Fisher should be. After dealing with an enemy you are able to pick up bodies and throw them against a wall repeate.. I mean hide them away in containers which will make sure they never get seen - because when they get seen, the bad guys are alert and when they're alert, you're gonna have a bad time.
The second biggest flaw of this game and it will mean nothing to newcomers of the series but the change of voice actor really got on my nerves, for those who don't know Sam Fisher was voiced by Michael Ironside. That bad-guy from Total Recall who punched Arnold Schwarzenegger in the face, and he brought wit, humour as well as professionalism to the role throughout the previous 5 games. What you have now is a generic, serious-toned American character who I never really enjoyed playing as. Thank-god I could customize what gear he has equipped and control the way I play because without that you would feel very detached. The main flaw to this game are the dogs, there are these dogs with some guard patrols later in the game which will sniff the crap out of you :P Be warned! You will swear repeatedly and they of course alert all nearby guards which will make you want to restart right away. But other than that the game is absolutely ace and I think if you're looking to buy it and you like stealth games, go for it!
There isn't really a main menu to this game as the menu is actually the aircraft which acts as your headquarters (Also up-gradable I tell you). You are left to wonder your HQ with the main desk being your access to your missions that diverse from:
The main Campaign (However you wish to play it, go nuts!)
Grims missions (Ghost Orientated ...Hack various terminals on a level without ever being seen or game over)
Kobins Missions (Panther Oriented ...You can play how you fancy in these really)
Charlies Missions (Assault Oriented ...Waves of enemies which get bloody difficult! ...I hate this play-style)
Tip-top game! Can't wait to see how they improve if they choose to make a sequel, I advise you try and be sneaky when you can and have the patience to persist with one play style all the way through. Have fun!
The last game (Conviction) had a great feature set but was lacking in that SC charm that the other games had. The emphasis seems to be on being a silent hunter than a sneaky agent.
That's changed in Blacklist. Big ol' terrorist threat. Sam Fisher (no longer voiced by Michael Ironside - so think of him as an alt-universe Sam Fisher...who is the head of a secret government agency, and looks and sounds only slightly older than the twenty-something daughter he has).
Single player:
Plot is thriller-fluff but takes you to wide-variety of locations for you to sneak about in.
Mechanics (including the mark and execute introduced in Conviction) are great - though not being able to SWAT roll at doors is an odd skill to lose: Sam just crouch runs to opposite cover instead.
Almost every level can be tackled in 3 different ways: Ghost (silent, undetected, no kills); Panther (undetected but with lots of silent kills) and Assault (which you can play as a 3rd person shooter or just a little louder than the other styles with a wide variety of guns).
Multiple ways to take on each level, together with once again being able to complete the entire game without killing anyone at all makes this the best Splinter Cell, in my opinion, since Chaos Theory.
Multi player:
Spies V Mercs is back. There's classic modes (with no custom loadouts) and blacklist modes (with heavily customisable loadouts for both classes).
Quite a few different game modes (even a mixed class team deathmatch, which is an odd one) just add to what is a worthy comeback of Splinter Cell multiplayer.
• In game play is really smooth and realistic.
• Several different ways and routes to complete each mission aswell
• You can achieve bonuses through being Stealthy, Like and Assassin or COD style Guns Blazing route.
• Out of mission gameplay (Buying upgrades and really good side missions)
• Good Story line and plot
Cons
• Load screens (for missions) are slow (well worth the wait though)
• Only 1 game slot
• I would have loved a longer campaign (although I will try and complete it on all difficultys and getting all modes completed)
Would Highly Recomend the game one of the best games I've played and the best stealth/action game.
