Seven months have passed since a deadly virus hit New York City and the rest of the world, crippling the population. When the virus hit, The Division, a unit of civilian sleeper agents, were activated as the last line of defence. Since then, Division agents have been fighting relentlessly to save what remains. For The Division, the stakes are higher than ever. Washington, D.C. - the most heavily protected city on earth - is at risk, leaving the entire nation on the brink of collapse. If Washington, D.C., is lost, then the nation falls. As a Division agent who has been in the field for seven months, you and your team are the last hope to stop the fall of society after the pandemic collapse.
Developed by Ubisoft Massive and the same teams that brought you Tom Clancy's The Division, Tom Clancy's The Division 2 is an online open world, action shooter RPG experience set in a collapsing and fractured Washington, D.C. This rich new setting combines a wide variety of beautiful, iconic, and realistic environments where the player will experience the series' trademark for authenticity in world building, rich RPG systems, and fast-paced action like never before.

The game been drastically improved in all circumstances. The shooting and weapon mechanics have been overhauled, and resemble more realism. Weapons have noticeable significance while used for the right purpose, and it feels really good to play already in this first aspect. There is a lot more weapon selection and impact on personal preferences to mold your play style. Gear, skills, buffs and optimisation are absolutely massive and has endless scope - the amount of endgame stats are endless on pieces of gear and characters etc. You can even mod and equip attachments on skill items through customisation as if on a weapon screen - everything you equip, carry and tweak appears on your character and makes for a good sense of identity or specialism and it is impossible be a ‘default’ player. Gear can be dyed and camouflaged, initial character customisation has become much larger. The game is mechanic heavy and you must strategise and synergise with other classes and playstyles to succeed, if you are caught out by enemies you are caught out. The new armour system has made things quite serious, and the bullet-sponging has been pretty much resolved and time to kill has been very nicely done - anyone complaining about time to kill now actually means that they aren't fighting or exploiting enemies correctly which is brilliant - I've killed bosses in general and end-game ones in a few seconds from exploiting them right. It has been very well-done without compromising the RPG style health bar depletion aspects. If you are hit or you yourself hit anything which is without armour, it is melted, and breaking armour is skill-based. Players can't afford to play this like an FPS at all now and noticeably close combat in PvP tends to end quickly. The AI is scary intelligent too. Status effects have become MUCH more prominent. The significance of the clan system is not an exaggerated feature by any means after saying it is joining among the most elaborate clan systems out there. The clan system is on-par with Neverwinter similarity or World of Warcraft. There are halls which can be customised, and tuned with other various novelties. There are clan rewards, exp, activities, Twitch chat style text messaging panels, 20 player voice chat and has open a massive portion of fulfillment. It has become a pretty complex and thickly layered MMO RPG this way. Cover-to-cover and movement mechanics like usual or last time are immaculate. Graphics improved, framerate (honestly) looks damn near 60fps on consoles in some actions or circumstances which amazed me. The AI has freaked me out a few times and has been improved greatly in terms of its intelligence, you are flanked or surrounded very fast and what you do really dictates how enemies behave. Enemies communicate amongst themselves calling out very specific commands or discussing environments or objects you are near, or if you are known to be shooting from a position such as: “He's behind the SUV!”. The UI is very clean and tidy. Dark Zone has improved and feels less like PvE players are singled-out from it and everyone is getting involved, I played the Dark Zone in beta and it was actually the most fun I've had in a game in a long time which is crazy, as it was just a barebones beta! I play it very regularly now and it is so good, to say its because its generally more worthwhile and fair is an understatement. The areas are just fuller and with more reason, riddled with bosses and purpose to go in - I think all the novelties people sought for originally are now even greater in presence and in depth. The atmospherics are incredible, audio and ambience is really really impressive too and some of the audio effects I've heard have been like Battlefield. I've played a lot of post-apocalyptic games, and the environments in this are imo more immersive and feel like more of an effort has been made than likes of Fallout. The game is being very regularly updated, I saw crazy updates where big things were just resolved and never happened again in the beta etc.
This is shaped to be an absolute monster of a game, it is totally consuming my life.
