I bought this collection because wanted to own something to mark the 100th Anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic and this collection is brilliant.

CD-One is a remastered copy of the Original Soundtrack from the film.
CD-Two is also a remastered copy of the Back to Titanic Soundtrack which was released a couple of years after the film.
CD-Three is a collection of music from I Salonisti - who play the ship's band in the film - and the music you hear is full recordings of snippets of music you hear played by the band in the 1997 film.
CD-Four is remastered original recording of music and songs from the decade between 1910 and 1920 and is an interesting addition to the other cds.

Just having the first two cds is worth the price paying for it, so to have the other two cd as well is an lovely addition to the collection.

the music from the film is just hauntingly beautiful and a fitting tribute to all those who went down with titanic. the additional cd's, music by the orchestra and music of the time give you a great sense of the era around the disaster. definately one of my most treasured cd's.

This is a soundtrack for HUGE Titanic fans, if you just like the score, then this: Titanic: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack - Anniversary Edition is probably the best buy for you.

First, you may be thinking that half of this product is something you already own. I am, of course, referring to the 1997 Titanic: Music from the Motion Picture Soundtrack and the 1998 Back to Titanic [SOUNDTRACK], which it is, but these discs have been digitally re-mastered and they sound richer and clearer than ever before. But even if you don't think they sound better, it certainly is worth getting this album because of disc 3 "Gentlemen, It Has Been a Privilege Playing with You Tonight". This features solely the works of I Salonisti, whom feature in the movie as Titanic's famous band. This disc includes all of the period waltzes etc that they play in the movie, and even some more. It has been expertly crafted and performed to meet James Cameron's exacting standards. It is a wonder, truly.
Disc 4 is a bit of a let-down, in terms of relevance to the movie. It, features popular music from around 1912, and I believe that they were recorded between 1914 and 1946, from the information in the booklet. Whilst these songs contain a ghostly feel of a bygone era, and they are performed well, they do not add much to a Titanic movie fan's experience, although, if you are a fan of anything Titanic, then they are an absolute gem.
