It says something about our country today that the author has to point out in this book that he has no fear of threats from those that will not like what he says. Fortunately, there now seems to be a growing concern about where political correctness, the weapon used by 'Liberals' to suppress free speech, is leading us. This book points out some of the main reasons that Liberal left dogma is such a danger to our freedom and democracy. Those not wedded to the perverse thinking of Liberals will see that the degradation of our education system, the growing underclass, soft treatment of criminals and the destruction of traditional values, to name just a few, will eventually destroy our country. This sobering assessment of what's wrong in this country is well worth a read, if you have an open mind.
I read this book because I had an awakening and realised that there are many things currently wrong with our (once) great country. This book encapsulates what is wrong. It's almost as if the author had read my mind, but I was too inarticulate to convey and he conveys it very well. As the author says you are welcome to disagree, I didn't. Well worth a read!
If you believe that the working taxpayers should pay for the roof over your head, your food, clothing and other essentials whilst you refuse to work for a living, this book is not for you. If you believe that you are in "poverty" because your household income is less than £18,000 p.a. this book is not for you. If you believe that the standard of education has risen over the years, this book is not for you. If you believe that Islam is a peaceful religion, this book is not for you. If you are obese and look to blame others for your condition, this book is not for you. If you believe that prison sentences for serious offenders should be reduced or even abolished, this book is not for you. If you are a member of the Liberal Left you will be offended by the home truths on every page. This book is not for you.
This book is a breath of fresh air for a stifled, politically correct society. The author writes what many British citizens dare not say for fear of being shouted down and labelled something-phobic. It is an interesting read, but in someways depressing because it reminds the older generation of how good Britain used to be.
This is a very relevant book in today's chaotic world. Even if you don't agree with everything it will give you food for thought. The scathing criticism of the "underclass" is brutal. But the genuine desire and warmth towards young people getting a safe stable upbringing, a useful education and making good lives for themselves counteracts it. The underclass on benefits are just more victims of the muddled left wing liberal policies. They think they are getting something over on society and have a feeling of entitlement to welfare. In fact they are the biggest losers of all. These policies created them and are ruinous for them. Easy to read, lighthearted enough to be enjoyable, serious enough to make you think.
The most toxic effect of the ascendancy of liberal left ideology has been the creation of the ever expanding underclass. Not of course as beautifully expressed as Theodore Dalrymple's essays on the same subject (no one alive can match TD for style and wit), but he does suggest solutions.
A not so silent member of the silent majority. Joe Cater elucidates the thoughts and feelings of the majority of British people. A thoroughly accurate appraisal of the state of the Uk in the second decade of the twenty-first century.
Very enjoyable and amusing book, with a lot of common sense policies readily available for implementation. Reversing the decline we have found ourselves in, due to idiotic left wing ideals. Nice to know there are still people left in this country with common sense.
