Through Life Costs Carry a significant health warning. £80 battery plus service costs of extra £100 every 2 years is not satisfactory its like a MoD Contract!!
My main concern is that when the lithium battery needs replacing it cannot be done at your local friendly watch shop. It has to go back to Tissot because it is waterproof down to 300 metres. Why this depth? It is not a divers watch! You can look forward to a bill in access of £100 for this. It is about time Tissot brought their watches up to date and used solar energy as so many other watch manufactures are doing so that customers are not faced with an outrageous bill every 18 months
I have trawled London and all shops were out of stock and complaining about supply but found the watch here for same asking price and once ordered it arrived the next day.
The functions all work perfectly and it looks great, though a bit chunky. Not sure how often i will really need the compass and altimeter and the thermo always seems too high (even after removing from wrist for 30 minutes as instructed) but they are great fun.
Easy to use, keeps time very well and impressed the nephews.
Very happy with.
First of all, I'd like to start by saying that I read the entire manual before I started using the watch. Even though this is not something that I normally do, I wanted to make sure that I won't miss out on any feature that the watch offers, no matter how insignificant. After playing around with different features for a few weeks, I ended up using it as i would use any wrist watch - mainly to see the time and date. The touch screen is nice to show off, but does not really add any value to the whole experience once you get enough of it. Altimeter and thermometer are more or less useless, since the altitude may vary more than 1000 meters depending on the atmospheric conditions, and temperature reading normally reflects the temperature of your arm. Taking the watch off for half an hour to get an accurate temperature reading is not really handy unless you are at your home, as you may end up leaving the watch behind somewhere. I also couldn't find any use of the two timezones feature, even though I travel a lot and expected that this would be something I could take advantage off.
On the good side, I went swimming a few times with the watch on, and had no issues whatsoever. Chronometer, compass and alarm work OK, as well as the meteo option, although I can't confirm how accurate its weather predictions are. It's a big watch and I hit quite a few things with it over the last year, but it survived all the poor treatment from my end.Read more ›
