Julie Preston is a hairdresser, she spends her days colouring, cutting, blow drying and styling her clients hair. Julie is also annoyed, she went out on a date had a great time, gave the guy her number then he never calls.
So when he waltzes into the salon she considers strangling him with the pink cape she fastens around his neck.
But she can't.
Blue is a police officer, the guy that never called, so causing him bodily harm would be a first class ticket in the slammer. Just looking at him makes Julie forget why she is mad at him in the first place, but she already knows Blue is nothing but heartache. So when he starts coming around, acting like he hadn't made her stare at the phone she tries to brush him off.
But she is about to get caught in a sticky web of crime and the only guy who can help her is the guy she vowed never to trust again.
The things I liked
Julie is my favourite character, a strong women who knows what she wants and is good at her job.
I love Blue's name. What a great name for a character. At first when I started reading I didn't really like it but then when I got to know him, I started to really love it.
The characters felt real to me, I loved these characters. Blue is just the perfect gentleman, doing his job but wanting to be with Julie even though its a danger to them both. Wanting to protect her but being a man of the law he has to protect other people too.
This story defiantly kept me guessing, I loved that Blue was undercover, trying to get evidence on the drug dealers to put them away because they were killing people with the drugs and young kids too.
My favourite part of the book is when Julie is caught with the drugs. She knew something was going on at the salon with her boss. So she decides to check to cupboard that is just meant to be electrical and heating stuff. She finds boxes of 'hair care products' then opens them to find drugs. She is trying to help Blue out, but then she gets arrested for possession of drugs. This scene made me laugh.
All of the scenes were written well I think. I got a great explanation of what was happening from each one. I loved the scene at the end when Blue has been beaten, they have Julie hostage, Blue has the drugs and he tells all the drug dealers they are under arrest, then all hell breaks lose. Blue as always tries to protect Julie.
I laughed when Julie was arrested. I thought this was funny because she was only trying to help Blue, and gets stitched up in the process by her boss.
The story defiantly gripped and made me want to keep turning the page to find out what happens next. I love that Blue and Julie end up finding love, through the chaos of Blue's undercover case.
This was an excellent read for me. I loved the gripping storyline. It wasn't just a simple tale of them falling in love.
This book is recommend to readers over 18 because of some content involved.
People who like relationship drama and a good gripping story will love this book.
5 out of 5 star rating.

This is about Julie Preston & Blue Markson. They went on a wonderful first date together, BUT He never called her back. Months later he strolls into her the hair salon, where she works, as if nothing happened. Julie is seething, but she still feels a spark with him. He is gorgeous after all & He is a police Officer.
Their story really starts when they arrange to go out on a second date & Blue stands her up. Then things get really interesting.
This was a nail biting story. What is Blue up to? AND more importantly will it effect Julie?
A story full of twist & turns, & an exciting story line.
Blue & Julie are so sweet together, you really want things to go well for them.
I love Cambria's books &this did not dissapoint.
Blue is a sexy police officer who screws up his first chance with Julie and is about to blow his second.... all due to his loyalty to his job.
But, luck is on his side as Julie the hot hairdresser... has no limits where Blue is concerned... their connection is too strong even after one date to ignore it...
This electrifyingly hot budding romance is far from a normal romance.... add into dangerous drug dealers, shady bosses and this story will keep you gripped...
its a must read....
