Designed with parents on the move in mind, the Tippitoes Baby carrier can be used from birth with Baby facing towards you. Once Baby is three months or over, Baby can alternatively face forwards. The wide cross over adjustable shoulder straps provide support for the back. The inner seat, arms and leg holes are all cushioned for additional comfort. Both the detachable dribble bibs (spares are available) and the baby carrier itself can be machine washed. Breathable fabrics prevent both Baby and Mum or Dad overheating. For ease of fitting the carrier opens conveniently into a flat position. The carrier is suitable from birth to 12 kg (approx 18 months).

I found it moderately tricky to put the baby into it and to get him out - not too bad if I was at home, but very awkward on a train or aeroplane. What was a real pain was - literally - the pain. Carrying the baby in this carrier for any length of time (ie, over 5-10 minutes) made my back very, very sore. So sore that I ended up buying the Baby Bjorn after all. I found the Baby Bjorn a lot easier to use - it was astonishingly simple to get the baby in and out of the carrier. I also found it a lot less painful - the much vaunted lumbar support really did make a difference. Maybe whether this one will work for you will depend on the weight of your baby, how long and how often you intend to carry him/her, and whether you tend to suffer from back pain at all (though I don't, usually).
I signed up for the Amazon Family membership a couple of months ago, which not only gets me free 1 day shipping, but also gets me regular discounts on many items.
Recieved a £5 off discount code for this (making it only £11.99). Thought, why not buy it. We are only planning on using it occaionally so at the price I paid for it I thought it would be worth getting & even if I only use it 3 or 4 times over the next 6-9 months, I'll get my moneys worth.
My first impressions of it on removing it from the packaging was, it looks and feels a little bit cheap (but hey, that's expected at this price point). On closer inspection, I thouhgt this is actually much better than I originally thought.
Yes it's a bit fiddly to get the baby in & out of (but I put that down to the not so clear instructions that come with it). I'm sure after a few attempts it'll get easier.
I tried it out for a couple of hours yesterday & found although it's not the most comfortable thing to wear and carry baby around in, my baby seemed to seriouly like it (judging by that fact that he slept in it for about 90 minutes, leaving me free to get on doing my household chores). I found that the carrier was a little bit lop sided when worn, but I probably need to figure out how to adjust it properly to get it to sit properly.
Also, it doesn't give much support and did make my back feel a little sore. But again that was expected, as you are carrying extra weight on your front that you don't normally have.
Overall, if you're only planning on using it occasionally then I'd still say this is worth buying even at the current full price of £15.99.

Excellent for money. Fits above hip for the larger ladies. My baby goes to sleep as soon as I put her in it which allows my hands free for housework.Published 10 months ago by melly

Could not work out how to use the damn thing! After several attempts, gave up and gave to the charity shop. Would not recommend. I bought it for a low price, so no great loss.Published 19 months ago by Roxy
