This is the story of Jenna and Royal, who have been married for 20 years, and have 4 children. Their marriage is at a stage where it is in deep trouble, and only the one individual is frustrated, and seems to be trying to fix things before it is too late. No spoilers from me though, you really, really, need to read this for yourself!!!
This author has done an amazing job in writing this storyline, as I was intrigued, on tenterhooks, and enthralled throughout. This is a rollercoaster of a journey, which is emotional, heartbreaking, and full of love. I recommend this authors work for all readers, and I cannot wait to read more from her in the future.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book!

Bangor Belle Book Besties ~ Eileen

Jenna met her husband Royal Grainger when she was a teenager, fell in love and married her badboy. Now 20 year’s later they have four kids, mortages, etc but are still very much in love. Problem is that neither of them seems to be showing that love to each other. Life and kids get in the way. The treadmill of everyday living, bills, running after and looking after everyone. When the past bites them on the ass, all the little cracks start to open up and they both know they have to fight to get back what they had.

I absolutely loved this read, no fairy tales, no bluff n bluster, just characters that you could love and identify with instantly. If your married or in a relationship its impossible not to get emotionally involved with these characters because all of us have been and felt what they are going through.

Jenna is feeling insecure, Royal is tired all the time, intimacy is at an all time low, and it doesn’t seem to bother him. He’s cranky, yet at times he’s still shows signs of the man she fell in love with. Jenna tries to kick start things in the bedroom but feels rejected with Royal would rather sleep. Now she also starts to notice all the little things that never bothered her before…. he’s never on time, he takes her for granted, he’s an ass !!!! But she loves him and resents him all at the same time!!!

Royal feels like the world is on his shoulders, he loves his wife and kids, they are his entire world, but Jenna is being snippy and stressy, he’s not sure what to do.

When all the frustrations finally explode, it isn’t a pretty sight, but how this couple deal with finding out that the love they thought was unbreakable and untouchable, could break so easily, will have your heart in pieces.

5.0 out of 5 stars Where there is love, there is HOPE! 15 Nov. 2016

Not all marriages are fairy tales. Not all of them are doomed, either. Not forever after, anyway.

Jami Denise delivers a book with raw feelings, deep issues, and a familiar twang of pain that a lot of marriages tend to go through at one point or another. Especially when you've been married as long as Jenna and Royal have been.

On top of questioning whether her husband loves her or not anymore, due to the typical self deprecation that comes along with having four kids and a long standing "hi, bye" type of relationship with the one-time love of her life (still is, if we're being honest, here) Jenna is handed a double scoop of crazy town when Royal's ex lands in town again. And oh, what crazy this woman brings along with her. Manipulation, for one thing. And an inability to accept the fact that . . . HE DOESN'T LOVE YOU, LANA!

But i digress.

Ms. Denise, you gave me a great read and made me think. You also made me super grateful (once again) to know you and to have been able to read your words.

thanks so much for putting for this story out there and for not having your heroine cheat at the first sign of trouble in her marriage... there are plenty of women out there who are going to identify with this character and they are going to embrace her way of thinking. She tells a story of the power of having great, strong, loyal friends - along with fighting to keep what's yours.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great Story! 27 Nov. 2016
By Wendy Syposs Litz-Fractured Fairy Tales Book Blog - Published on Amazon.com

I really enjoyed Jenna and Royal 's Story! Jenna was the thread that bound the family together. Always there to listen and do for her family. That is exactly the type of person that gets taken for granted! I think that circumstances finally made Jenna see the light! She was worth MORE than the label of Convenient,Door Mat,or Comfortable! She was going to fight for her family, but also fight for herself!

The only thing I didn't like so much was the ending. It didn't really resolve a lot of the families issues. What happened at Jenna's Birthday Party? Did Lana leave town? Hopefully,my questions will be answered in the next book.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great for an angst fix 14 May 2017

This is most definitely one of those books that will leave you with a book hangover. A story that breaks your heart, pisses you off, and then makes you feel all kinds of warm and fuzzy. The realism of the story is gut wrenching, and a book I would recommend to anyone who needs some hardcore angst. It was one I couldn't put down and I'm aching for the next one to come out.
5.0 out of 5 stars Possibly my favorite romance yet 15 Nov. 2016

Possibly my favorite romance yet... because it's you can relate to it! High school sweethearts Jenna and Royal have been through it all over their 20 plus years together. When their foundation reveals cracks, can they be repaired? From running a business, raising four children, running a household can they find their center? Truly a story of hope, love and daily life for a 40's something couple just trying to hold together the fabric which binds them by their Tiny Threads. Click that little buy button, you won't be at all disappointed! Jami Denise has knocked another one out and I wasn't able to put it down. One book isn't enough!

5.0 out of 5 stars Emotional and Authentic 26 Nov. 2016
By Jennifer L. - Published on Amazon.com

This is the first book I’ve read by Jami Denise and I always enjoy tucking myself away with a new author. As a reader, I love to learn an author’s storytelling strengths and the premise of the book told me I was in for a different type of read.

Tiny Threads is the story of Jenna and Royal, a couple who met as teenagers and married extremely young. Despite the odds, their marriage has endured and they have made a stable and loving home for themselves and their children. After many years together, however, Jenna and Royal have hit a rough patch and find trouble connecting with one another. The core of the novel explores how this married couple deals with the strain of their stale relationship.

As the main characters of the story, Jenna and Royal are drawn so realistically that I often felt I could be reading about any couple I’ve known. Royal, in particular, is complex. He’s one of the most authentic fictional men I’ve read in recent times. It’s easy to see why Jenna loves him the way she does. He’s clearly a devoted father whenever he interacts with their children, and he often surprises Jenna with sweet and sexy moments. Royal is a passionate man, but in subdued ways that only Jenna can recognize after many years of marriage. But it’s also easy to see why Royal frustrates the hell out of Jenna, too. He is only human, after all, and makes some mistakes that complicate an already stressful dynamic between the couple.

“Once I had myself calmed down, I opened the door and found my husband waiting outside. He shoved me back in the bathroom and shut and locked the door behind him. Without a word, he lifted my small frame, sat me on the counter and kissed the breath out of me. His lips were soft but firm, and as soon as his tongue slid over my bottom lip, I moaned in pleasure.

Maybe it was the adrenaline, but I couldn’t push him away. I loved the way his hands moved over my hips, urgent and needy. It’d been a while since he’d touched me that way, like he meant it. This wasn’t a drunk tumble or an attempt to be normal.

This was want. Need.

As our kiss deepened, my anger waned. Just as I pushed my fingers through his hair and turned my head to kiss him harder, the sound of my son squealing in the other room burst our bubble.

“Don’t be mad, Jenna,” he whispered against my lips. “I didn’t mean to piss you off. I wasn’t thinking.”

I sighed and leaned my head against his chest. “I don’t like you hanging out with her. Don’t you get it?”

He let out a long breath and kissed the top of my head. “I do. She just needs someone to talk to sometimes. I feel bad for her.”

It was like everything I said went in one ear and out the other. I’d pretty much demanded he stop talking to her, and he was going to do it anyway.

Again, I was furious.

I pushed away from him, swung the door open roughly, and stormed into the other room.”

Tiny Threads is book one in the Snapdragon Series and although this story isn’t a cliffhanger, I was left wondering how Jenna and Royal would fare after this novel ended. Tiny Threads wasn’t always an easy read, but I was sucked into the story nevertheless, reading the entire book in just one day. I came to care about not just Jenna and Royal, but about their children, their parents and their friends. Each character I met in this book was unique and fully-formed and I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next with this ensemble.

In the end, I bounced between giving this book a 4 or 5 star rating. I’ve ultimately settled on 5 stars due to the effective emotional draw and the authenticity of these characters. Perhaps this book won’t be for every reader, but I found it to be a compelling, serious love story.
