UPDATE: I noticed last week that the watch was running about 15 min slow, this week it's 30 min slow. I received it around 10/18 & it worked for less than 2 mo. which is too late to return/refund since the policy is only 30 days. This is the 2nd watch to break after 30 days so I won't be buying any more from Amazon.
I love the look of the watch. Very basic and classic. The face is easy to read, although the numbers are not as bright as they appear in the photo--the image makes it look like white numbers against pure black. But in person, the black isn't fully black and the letters are dark silver like the case, but reflect well in the light.
Re: ticking issue is that other reviewers have complained about. I don't hear ticking at all from this watch. Maybe it's something that has been corrected because of the complaints? Either way, I had to put the watch inches from my ear to hear it tick, and even then it wasn't loud.
