Includes Free Stickers and Poster Set. Learning your times tables is not the end of the world..........or is it? Billy prefers comics to maths but when asked to save Planet Calculus from Zeta the evil Number Cruncher, that's exactly what it becomes. Join Billy on this fantastic interactive adventure, learn your times tables and save the world. The Times Table Adventure is an interactive story of learning and fun, packed with songs and quizzes that makes learning your tables a whole adventure. Playable on any DVD player, together with PC, Mac, X-Box, PS3 and Wii, this multi platform product has been designed to be enjoyed and shared by the entire family. Each DVD consists of four fun sections, during which we gain your child s attention, teach them a particular table, test their knowledge of what they have learned and finally rewards their efforts. But because all this happens as part of Billy s adventure to save Planet Calculus, your child will be eager to continue the journey with Billy, as he meets new friends and learns each table, before finally confronting Zeta in the times table battle. After traveling such a long way and facing so many challenges Billy, Digit and Sammy find themselves in the Octobog Swamps, where they meet the playful Octopaws and learn the 8X times table. Meanwhile Millie has been searching high and low for Billy, but without success, until a friendly bird sends her to Nonagon Castle to look for Lady Helen, who also appears to be trying to find Billy. At Nonagon Castle Millie doesn't find Billy, but she does meet Lady Helen, who reluctantly guards all the wrong numbers from the universe for Zeta, which is what makes the evil number cruncher so powerful. Lady Helen knows that Billy has forgotten to learn the 9X times table, which is very dangerous, so she teaches it to Millie so that she can pass it on to Billy when she finds him. When Billy, Digit and Sammy reach the Marble Plains, they make another new friend, Dec the zoom kid, who is able to help them learn the 10X times table. Then Billy is amazed when Millie turns up, and is extremely pleased to see her. Together they prepare to defeat Zeta, who has forced Professor Dougal to re-build his Number Generator, but will they be in to save the Planet Calculus. Review

I introduced the Times Table Adventure to a boy of seven who attends our day care unit every month for treatment. He is working on his times table's in school but finds them very dry and uninteresting.......I feel that his knowledge of the tables definitely improved after just one viewing and he had no problem keeping his attention to task.` --Jan Bennett, Teacher

I used it with my class on Monday and they had a great time singing the songs and using the disc interactively on the whiteboard. They thoroughly enjoyed this......I would recommend this title for any class which needs to learn their times tables......Equally it would be perfect for home use ......A terrific resource. --Karl Perkins, Teacher

I have tried it out at home on my 6 year old daughter. She liked it very much and had fun completing the tasks more than once. I have also given it to the year two teacher in school......It seems to motivate and capture the children well. --Maren Kelly, Teacher

A while ago I wrote a post about the importance of tables, and why children had to know them. I truly believe that they are a foundation for many of the next stages of maths. And everyone I spoke to agreed……Steve Tranter and John Sanderson have latched onto the importance of tables - and the reluctance of children to engage with them…... The result was Times Table Adventure, which is now my son's favourite set of DVDs! The strap line - "learning your times tables isn't the end of the world..Or is it?" - is absolutely brilliant, and the set of DVDs tells the story of a boy who can save humanity (and defeat the evil number cruncher, Zeta), but only if he learns how to multiply properly……..It's certainly a clever idea, with the times tables woven into the story. It's very interactive too, with a quiz for each table, before you move on. I'm an old-fashioned sort of person, and not always convinced that screen-based ideas are the answer to everything……… But I am impressed by Times Table Adventure, not least because every child I have shown the DVDs to has wanted to watch on. And that's not something you hear of very often when it comes to maths..... The DVDs are now on sale and I think they will appeal……. They're loud, fun and a little teeny bit scary. But they're not at all boring. And all this makes them something I'm very happy to recommend. --Sarah Ebner, Schoolgate Editor, The Times

I purchased these on behalf of a friend who wanted an alternative to books to help her kids learn their tables. Whilst I haven't watched them myself she seems happy with them so far and finds they take it in more watching this for short periods rather than learning them the old fashioned way.
