Review

"Kyle Swanson returns for his boldest and best adventure yet. . . . Coughlin and Davis' series only gets better with each installment. Series fans will devour this one, but new readers will enjoy it just as much, as knowledge of prior novels in the series is not required. A great military thriller for anyone with a little time to kill." --"Booklist" (starred review)"Will leave readers cheering." --"Publishers Weekly "on "Clean Kill""The latest Kyle Swanson sniper thriller might be the best yet. . . . Quickly paced and tightly written, this one is a definite winner." --"Booklist" on "Running the Maze ""Coughlin and Davis hit the action-adventure 10-ring again." --"Kirkus""Reviews" on "Running the Maze"" ""A strong and compelling narrative. Coughlin and Davis have concocted another winner that should only encourage a growing readership." --"Booklist "on "Clean Kill"

Excellent!
Develops the characters and history of the previous book s coherently. The story line is contemporary and tightly written with the usual mix of military action and detail
Kyle Swanson remains a believable hero who still delivers the world from evil ! When's the next instalment?

If you enjoyed the previous books in the series, you will enjoy this one.

Kyle Swanson, Marine sniper and James Bond rolled into one is called into action in Egypt. In a slightly daft plot dodgy Iranians are trying to provoke war with Egypt or at least provoke events so they can send in troops. Luckily Super Kyle is in situ and is able to wage (a pretty entertaining) one man war against Iranian troops who have manipulated a force into Egypt. Yep some over the top characters and some loose ends (a Special Forces helicopter thread that just fizzles out, a British female agent that also serves no purpose) but the actions bits are well done and you know on picking this up pretty well what you are going to get.

The principle character is a sniper who serves in a tiny specially selected intelligence force which looks after the security interests of the United States of America. Whilst concerned by threats to the lives of his adoptive parents who are English and posh, he finds himself travelling to Egypt with a female intelligence agent who is English and with whom he does not really get on, seeking to find a mysterious figure who is feeding information to the West on the efforts by Iran to destabilise the Egyptian government. He arrives in the popular Egyptian tourist area on the Red Sea and upward of a thousand Iranian special troops land by air to make their presence felt. Gunnery Sergeant Swanson deals with a couple of them, then phones his boss in America to report. There is no immediate solution and 'Gunny' as his senior officer calls him, is told that they have great confidence in him and he is to stay there and do what he can. By this time I was more than half way through the book and decided that I too would leave 'Gunny' to settle things, fully confident that he would do so.

I didn't like that there was no consideration given to the fact that the people of Iran and Egypt don't speak the same language. The Iranians invaded Egypt and everyone just gave the Egyptians orders, which they immediately followed despite the fact the don't speak the language.

Well I enjoyed this. Coughlin's experience as a Gunny shows through in spades; great knowledge displayed here. The whole plot, though probable, is highly unlikely but don't let this detract from the nitty gritty of the action that is present throughout this book.

I have bought all the previous novels, so this was a natural choice.
The book is well written and also covers areas that require several skills therefore realistic.
Looking forward to the next book
