About the Author
I was born on the17th August 1968, during the interval of a Crewe Male Voice Choir concert at the local theatre. This was particularly fortunate for my dad who was a fanatical choir member and meant he could give me a swift kiss, before sprinting from the hospital to perform in the second half. At school, I resisted my career teacher’s advice which was to become a postman, and attended Bournemouth University. Upon graduating, I worked in the television industry before becoming a lecturer. In 2006 I took a year’s sabbatical and lived in the South West of France where I wrote the first draft of ‘The Time Hunters.’ I enjoy travelling, cooking, and nice pots. I live in a tiny and delightful house, with my tiny and delightful girlfriend, my tiny and delightful daughter and my fat and somewhat less than delightful cat.

The riotous fun which sees Percy, Becky, Joe and Will tracking down the Argonauts and the legendary Golden Fleece is underscored by a menacing villain who employs Hitler's bodyguards and drives around in one of Stalin's old limos.
It's not particularly demanding for older readers, but Time Hunters boasts a tight plot, fun characters and slick prose. If I was, perhaps, still a bit vague at the end of the book as to what was so special about the Golden Fleece, that's something that I'll look forward to discovering in the sequel.
This is a really exciting novel, which is perfectly pitched at ages 7+. There are Nazi baddies, mythical creatures and visits to the Ice Age, Victorian England and Ancient Greece as well as appearances by Jason and the Argonauts. The storyline is cleverly constructed, the chase and mystery keeps the thrills up and the characters are really well written. Overall, I was very impressed by the beginning of this series and I know my children want to read on.
