I've worn them a few times in the Brussels weather (rain, cold) and my feet have been very well protected.
UPDATE OCT 2014 - 1 Year on and these are still going strong, nearly as strong as the odor coming from them, but something tells me there's nothing Timberland can do bout my smelly feet :-) Aside from the warmth and comfort of these boots, I must add a comment about the grip. If you live somewhere (like Brussels)where you have cobbled stones everywhere, or particularly slippery pavements, these are literally a life saver, I've worn my 'dress' boots on such surfaces and have come undone several times, however these bad boys stick to the surface like glue. I wouldn't recommend trying to scale a building like Spiderman in these, but they are great for normal excursions.
Cosmetically, they are leather so get scuffed etc, but a few minutes with some polish and shine ad they look great.
UPDATE - AUGUST 2015 - That's right, I've worn these almost daily, shamelessly for a couple of years. The only issue is the smell now, even odour eaters can't help me here. The sole is still going strong, the only thing I needed to replace in all these years were the laces. NOTE - I AM AN IT CONSULTANT SO I DO NOT OVER EXERT THESE SHOES AT ALL. TOP BUY
Well, he took those types of 'trendy-shoes' on holiday with him, and he's now sitting in a Spanish shoe shop because his feet are in agony.
I really love Timberlands. They're trendy, whether you're 18 or 80 and they never go out of fashion. If you're looking for a resilient and attractive pair of shoes or boots, you need not look much further. Personally speaking, I'm not particularly into 'fashion' per se, so I like to buy things that look reasonably trendy, but which won't fall apart at the seams within a week. I rarely buy clothes, and recently I decided to invest in these to compliment my standard 'going out to Tesco' outfit (Boots, jeans or chinos, a checkered shirt rolled up at the elbows.)
Fantastic! Really comfortable and a perfect fit. Very easy to get on and off too, so no wrestling with them like I've had to do with other boots before.
Was worried because boots can sometimes be differently sized, but I just specified the exact same size as I take with all my other shoes, trainers, plimsoles, etc (UK size 9) and they fitted brilliantly. Will definitely buy again once these are worn out.
The 'copper' colour makes the boots look a bit 'lived-in' from day one; much more stylish and trendy than those more 'yellow' coloured boots sold be the likes of caterpillar.
They aren't just good from a practical point of view, they are also really attractive boots and go really well with jeans and chinos.Read more ›
The laces that come with it are poor as well - too short and do not tie well. Ended up replacing them right a way.
The boot does look good, keeps the water out and is very comfy once you manage to actually get it on. Will probably stretch somewhat with time and make this not a hassle.
One of the laces was damaged when I received this, given that these are not exactly cheap I expected them to be flawless.
The sole can be a quite slippery and lacks grip on wet footpaths which is very surprising given that these are waterproof boots implying they are meant for wet conditions.

I'm very disappointed with these boots and with Timberland customer service.
The key problem with the boots is that there is too much filling in the ankle pads. Read more
Great quality because Timberland. Try these on in the shop first. Size up if you have flipper feet like mine. Quite narrow fittingPublished 18 days ago by Matt James
