'I know the rules Lucy, nothing but **x' (Magnus)
'So why are you trying to turn it into something else' (Lucy)
Another hot, funny story from this Male/Female Author Duo,who do write well together, alongside their own individual projects.
This follows the character's of Lucy and Magnus, who featured in the previous book (Clipped),told in DUAL POV's of course, and I would say in the same time frame as the previous, although, easily read as a Standalone.
The Prologue, with Lucy finding out she's pregnant to boyfriend David, and his reaction to that news (i.e he's a cheating a****le) who doesn't want the responsibility of fatherhood, means he's out the picture, and Lucy's a single mom...Go forward few years and she's busy raising her son, caring for her own mother with the return of Avery to help, she's wanting some no strings attached fun-hence the sign up to the 'Timber app' who Magnus is connected to.
I liked the banter between both leads, and of course the chemistry was obvious, with some hotness along the way,we get introduced to some new character's who could become subjects for more stories, and the inclusion of Avery and Wes was great. My only issue (and this is my personal opinion) the return of Douchbag David was over/settled a bit on the rushed side, and I actually felt it wasn't needed. However,it did not stop me from enjoying the story, and I look forward to seeing what this writing Duo have planned next.
When I read Clipped I seriously thought Magnus was a big D but now that we get to hear his story I see this man in a whole new light. Yes he’s a fitness model and a sexy as all hell lumberjack but there’s so much more to him then meets the eye. Who would of ever thought Timber could bring a connection like the one Lucy and Magnus share, granted even though Lucy is hesitant to have any personal relationship past sexual with him you feel the spark without a doubt. I loved their story and was a page turner from the very beginning, the flow was a good pace. I feel like there was a bit of a push at the end and I personally would of wanted it spread a little more otherwise it’s a great read and I highly recommend you grab your copy. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.
Lucy is a very sweet character that has been very hurt by her past relationship. Mangus is a fitness model and lumberjack that craves the simplicity of life, who has also been very hurt by a past relationship. These two meet on a dating app and when they do, a very sweet story unfolds. Sometimes a little resistant to what fate has in store and this leads to an adorable story.
Timber was well written and the development of the plot was great. It was well executed and went along nicely, until the end. However, for me, the end seemed to be a little rushed and the dialogue was a bit on the “cheesy” side, but overall it was a cute story!

"He's not good enough for you."
"How do you know? Do you know anything about him besides what you've read or heard from other people?"
I adored Magnus! While he was big, bearded, burly, and intimidating, he was also a big-hearted teddy bear. A gentleman. Magnus was perfect for Lucy and she for him. At first their relationship, which starts on a dating app, moves slowly. But as it grows, so does my smile. There were sweet moments in this book that I loved. There was also many laugh aloud moments. Of course there were some sexy moments as well. In addition, the secondary characters endeared me to the story even more with their banter and humor.
When an author duo writes a single story, you wonder whether or not it will flow smoothly and the pace will be steady. If I didn't know there were two authors writing this book, I wouldn't have guessed. Every word flowed making this book a steady page turner. The only time I was disappointed was the end. I wanted a longer book. I wanted more Magnus. So if you haven't checked out Remy Blake yet, I recommend you do that.
This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it.
The story revolves around Lucy, a single mother who is stretched to the limits with taking care of her son and her mother and Magnus, a fitness model and business owner. Lucy signs up on the dating app Timber in the hopes of finding someone for fun and never expects to get a response from someone claiming to be the hot and sexy Magnus Anderson. Magnus is the face of Timber and only creates a profile to appease the company, never intending to look for a match. When he sees Lucy's profile, he is immediately drawn to her and has to meet her. These two are insanely adorable together their chemistry is off the charts.
Remy Blake did an excellent job writing these characters, making them strong but vulnerable and turning them into something that people can relate to. I am definitely sold on this pair and look forward to going back and reading all that I can from this writing duo. Even though I read an advanced reader copy and am providing my honest opinion I purchased a copy for my library. I highly recommend a 1-click purchase today as you will not be disappointed.
The thing that stuck out to me more was how real and relatable Magnus and Lucy we're as characters. Lucy being a single mum and Magnus having to over come his anxiety and his stutter.
The chemistry between the two is evident straight away but Lucy insists she only wants sex and nothing more.
I truly wish I could give this book more than 5 stars because it deserves it.
