It has been over a year since Katia left and she is not living a life of luxury. She has to face her past so she goes back to deal with Marcus. No matter what has happened between these two people Katia still loves Marcus so seeing him again is like ripping open a wound. But there is still more heartache in store for Katia.
This book is still in the 'Now' and 'Then' and alternative between Marcus and Katia. The Then' part is after Katia left and what Marcus is going through and the 'Now' is what is going on with Marcus and Katia in their lives.
The whole conclusion comes to a climax and their wouldn't be a great book without drama and an incident that will rock both their worlds.
When I finished reading this book I was relived because so much happened in this book that I was unsure how this book could end on a good note, but Bella Jewel brought it back round. I laughed and I cried had my heart broken then it was healed. It was truly an amazing book and a great climax to a great book. It is amazing book and just brilliant.
Katia runs with her mother and cuts all ties and gives birth to Penny who is the image of her father. Working long shifts to support her mother and daughter she cannot let go of the hurt.
Marcus is desperate to find her he finds out the hard way just how much she means.
Her mother is ill and her dad gets her to return home while he watches her. She agrees that she needs closure and goes to find Marcus. She finds him at a benefit with a blonde draped over him. Another chance meeting she finds him with yet another woman in his arms and all he can say is its business.
Katia demands a divorce which Marcus won't give until she talks to him. Refusing all contact she is on the way to the airport to see her mom who is now dying, Marcus grabs her and demands she listen, she misses her flight. When he realises what has happened he gets the next available seat. Her mom dies before she gets there. Katia enters the darkest phase of her life and all she wants is revenge and the life insurance money.
Marcus cannot believe what she has done on top of that Penny is in hospital so she has to tell him. He is shocked and hurt and finally gives her the signed divorce papers.
They both know they cannot get past the hurt they have done to each other. He knows things must change for them before they can think about a future.
Katia is hurting; she left everything behind apart from her mum and went to seek solace away from him after that dramatic revelation in book 1. She has one constant reminder of Marcus but that's not enough to go back and deal with things, but her loyal friend Dusty convinces her to go back to get that closure she needs to move on. With a heavy heart she does see Marcus but things are never that easy. They have an undeniable chemistry, attraction and passion which they both can't fight but that can also turn toxic, vicious and twisted. When things beyond their control take a turn for the worst its Marcus who gets blamed by Katia she loses herself to the pain, rage and anger and decides to take action " I don't care who you are, I don't care what your past is- you make a choice to completely destroy a human being for your own satisfaction, your soul will go to depths of the earth and deeper, and you, my friend will burn." She enters the darkness and is overwhelmed by it; will she find what she's looking for their or will the darkness consume her?
Without revealing too much it's suffice to say things turn nasty very quickly and this time around Katia is the one with a secret to be kept in more ways than one. The twists and turns will have you welling up with tears and laughing as Landon and Wyatt add their views to events.
I adored this book with its sizzling passion, dark twists and relatable characters. I hope Bella writes a book for Ford or any of Katia's brothers as they are more than sideline characters!!
Katia was horrific in parts of this and again I wasn't sure I liked her at all.
So... I love Bella's writing, I normally love her books, but this one? It's good but the way it went meant I have mixed feelings about it.
I also think it suffered a little from being short. It meant that we never really got to know what was happening with other people around the main characters and how they interacted with them, eg Mack and the rest of Jokers Wrath. It also meant that decisions were made and the results sometimes, for me, didn't quite make sense.
In this, feelings are uppermost, they consume and tear apart. It's a little like a modern Rhett and Scarlet.
Saying that it's a compelling, five star read.

What a beautiful written book... by the end of the last book I was totally on Katia's side, but seeing the way Marcus was left as well had my heart strings pulling! Read morePublished 13 months ago by Amazon Customer
This book defiantly is not one of my favourites. It bored me and I skipped most of it, preferring the end! They were both hard to like, there was no real love for these characters.Published 14 months ago by Anna-Marie king
