Product description

POWERED BY BRIGGS & STRATTON

Today the best lawnmower manufacturers choose only Briggs & Stratton engines over any other. This Tiger lawnmower is powered by a Readystart Briggs & Stratton 625E Series engine. Powerful, inherently reliable and remarkably fuel efficient, that will start first time, every time, designed and built in the USA

SELF-PROPELLED FOR AN EASIER CUT

For an easier cut, this mower features a self-propelled drive system, with the Briggs & Stratton engine providing cutting and motive power. With the mower propelling itself, all you need to do is walk behind and guide the mower.

IT'S A STEEL

This Tiger mower incorporates a tough, steel cutting deck designed to take life's little knocks and bumps in its stride. Finished in Tiger Orange and featuring a corrosion resistant coating for a longer service life, unlike plastic deck mowers it will never crack, warp or splinter.

4-IN-1 COLLECTION SYSTEM

For maximum flexibility, this Tiger lawnmower benefits from a 4-in-1 collection system. If you prefer to collect your clippings, then you'll be quick to appreciate the 65 litres capacity collection system. For those who prefer a natural finish, then you'll welcome the choice of side or rear discharge. And for those who prefer to mulch their clippings and return vital moisture and essential nutrients to the soil, a mulch plug is supplied as standard.

SINGLE LEVER HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT

This mower benefits from Tiger's single-lever height adjustment system, which allows you to change cutting height on demand. You can choose from no fewer than 10 different heights of cut, ranging from 15mm to 70mm and ensuring there's a height to suit every lawn and every season.

Works well. Starts well and easy to use, gets up to corners ok and the back box holds a lot, given we have a huge lawn, it is a great saving of time, not having to be emptying the box every few steps !!! Recommended.

Just bought this mower and it looks the business and seems to be well made and sturdy. This is my first petrol mower and I have to say the build instructions are really poor.

The mower featured in the booklet pics isn't the same as the TM5120SP. I guess they're all pretty much the same when it comes to assembly but the images explaining things are such bad quality it's virtually impossible to follow.

I can't actually see enough detail to work out where the recoil starter and throttle cable assy? are supposed to go in order to assemble it so will just have to look at images elsewhere on Google to try and work it out. The handle assembly is pretty obvious, the rest isn't.

Images are really poorly printed - small, b&w images with no close-up detail and some random arrows pointing at things you can't make out anyway showing you where things attach.

If anyone can tell me what step 1 means: 'disconnecting the spark plug wire and ground it against the engine by attaching rubber boot to bolt or metal clip to the grounding post on the engine' I'd be very grateful!

UPDATE:
Okay got it all assembled thanks to a good video on You Tube.

Started on the second pull and away we go!
On the highest pull settting - the hare it pull away at a reasonable speed.

It's pretty slow tbh so I won't ever be going into tortoise mode but I'm sure older people might. Then again it is a pretty heavy beast so not sure older people would buy it anyway!

Cuts nicely but does leave a lot of grass on the lawn which I wasn't expecting. My old electric mower never did this & after a week of dry weather and not particularly long grass I was a bit disappointed.

I found the assembly instructions pretty useless, so managed to assemble it by trial and error. In general it operates well, though the clutch is a bit vicious. My main complaint is that quite a lot of the cut grass is thrown out from under the housing and not collected in the grass box. Even if you go over it again, a proportion is still lost out through the side. Not good.
POSTSCRIPT: The retailer provided me with a replacement blade which was much more effective at lifting the cut grass and delivering it up the chute to the grass box. There is no longer a pile of grass left lying on the lawn after cutting it. Problem solved.

I bought a Tiger TM5120SP mower from Cyril Johnson in April 2017. As a machine it looked like it met all my requirements with the exception of a rear roller to stripe the lawn. I was impressed by the delivery speed as it came 7 days earlier than expected. There was easy minor assembly required which was made more difficult than it should have been by the poor instructions. The challenge was working out which way round the brake and clutch bars went. However there is an excellent video on YouTube which I would recommend - type the name and model. CJ very kindly threw in a bottle of 4 stroke oil with the delivery which reflects their level of customer care and have also been friendly in their communication surrounding my purchase. I have used it once so far and found it to be a reliable starter and easy to handle with the self propelled system. I had to be careful with the rear collection system clogging but I was cutting long wet grass - first cut of the season. But I have no complaints so far! Here is to many years before I need another one! 4 stars would be five if not for the instructions. Always room for improvement!

I purchased this mower based on other reviews. However despite glowing reviews from others, mine will not be. This mower is not for large gardens with longs grass as in grass over 4 inches in length. I spent 30 minutes using this mower in my back garden (120 feet by 80) After thirty minutes and a dozen restarts I gave up and returned to using my old worn out Mountfield. This mowers mulcher can not handle long grass. it builds up clots of cut grass underneath which chokes the mower causing it to stop. The engine was also suspect as it kept hunting, (throttling itself up and down).

I have given two stars purely because of the sellers response, within 20 minutes I had a telephone call from them! not too many minutes later a collection was organised for return of this mower. Wow. talk about Customer Service!
