Through the Magic Door is a biography that delves into the world of Ursula Moray Williams, and Colin Davison has outdone himself in his efforts to portray her and her books.
A charismatic, charming and brilliant collection of letters and diaries depict a lifetime of devotion to writing from experience and the heart. Williams' life seemingly influenced most, if not all of her books, and Davison has sculpted this into a true account of her life; from her child-hood, through to her later-life.
Any fan of Williams will love and adore this book, and any new-comers will undoubtedly be rushing to get her back catalogue after reading this biography.

Ursula Moray Williams' stories were loved by millions, this biography uncovers much of her inspiration for her stories, portraying Moray as one of her own fictional heroes.
Biographer Colin Davison draws upon unpublished diaries, recollections and letters in order to describe Moray's own fairy-tale upbringing - until her later, sometimes troubled career.
A perfect insight into the voice which inspired many a childhood.
